Andy Griffiths dominates 1/12th Mod

Andy Griffiths

We have reported on the exploits of Andy Griffiths before and last weekend he managed to make it a clean sweep in 1/12th modified class by winning ALL rounds in this years championship. This last round of the championship took place in Hereford and all drivers were greeted with a big fast track and a technical infield. Andy claimed the pole position and from there proceeded to win the first leg of the finals, despite some mistakes near the end of the race. In the second final he damaged his car which put him out of the final which left Keith Robertson to take the win leg 2 and leaving it all to play for in the 3rd final, but once Andy got out in front he was never to be headed and took the final leg 3 win and with it the overall event win.

Cavalieri and Maifield dominate Cactus Classic

Cavalieri and Maifield

As in qualifying, the racing at this years Cactus Classic was dominated by the Team Associated pairing of Ryan Cavalieri and Ryan Maifield, between them picking up all the big trophies in the modified classes. In the 4wd buggy mod class it was Cavalieri who took the win despite a disastrous 1st main where he only finished 9th allowing Masami Hirosaka to take the round win, but Ryan was able to pull it back together to take the wins in the final 2 mains to take the overall win, with Yokomo racer Hirosaka ending up in 2nd, with Maifield in 3rd. Markus Feldmann wins Germany vs. Holland Race

Markus Feldmann

Last weekend, at the buggy track in Purmerand in the Netherlands, saw the running of a fun race to find out which country is the best between neighbours Germany and Holland based on the best 24 Dutch and the best 24 German positions, totalling the points together. In qualifying Markus Feldmann could take the TQ spot but didnt fair so well in his semi final, only finishing 5th. A few changes to his car and he was able to quickly work his way up to front of the final to take the lead on lap 2 where he could push away and take the race win followed home by Oliver Simon in 2nd and Marcell Guske in 3rd. Despite Germany have 8 drivers in the final, the event was won by the Dutch, on points.
