SIC Pro class wins for Tebo, Lutz & Bornhorst

Autaugaville in Alabama hosted the 2020 Southern Indoor Championship this past weekend, attracting nearly 500 entries. In the premier Pro Nitro Buggy class it was Seth VanDalen with the overall TQ from Cole Ogden in 2nd, however the 30-minute A-main event would see the top 2 drivers struggle, making way for 3rd place qualifier, Tekno RC’s Jared Tebo who took the lead in the opening stages and swapped it with Joe Bornhorst (Tekno RC) in the second half of the race, however Tebo would regain P1 a couple of laps later and from there he never looked back to take the win from Joe in 2nd while TLR’s Dakotah Phend came in 3rd overall. Austin Woodyard and Brandon Rose would end the A-main in 4th and 5th respectively.

Orlowski & Martin successful at 2020 British GP

The 2020 British GP was held in Bruntingthorpe this past weekend. The race was organised by RC Octane and the Silverstone RCMCC and was held on a purpose-built, challenging track and in 1/10th Buggy and Truck classes. In 2WD Mod Buggy it was Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski with the overall TQ, tie on points with the Yokomo’s Lee Martin while Team Associated’s Neil Cragg came in 3rd overall. The finals then saw Michal taking wins in A1 and A2 for an early overall victory from Lee Martin in 2nd and Joni Skidmore in 3rd.

Fear Farm 3.0 – Announcement

The RC Tonder club is hosting their Fear Farm 3.0 race from the 21st to 23rd of February in Tonder, Denmark. The 3rd edition of the popular event will see the running of 1/8th Nitro Buggy, 40+ Nitro Buggy and 1/8th E-Buggy classes and sign-up is already available here. Völker & Ratheisky win at GP3F

The 2020 Grand Prix des 3 Frontieres was hosted by the French MRC Longwy club this past weekend, attracting a full 150-car entry for the two classes of Touring Modified and Touring Stock. The event attracted some of Europe’s fastest electric on-road racers and it was Yokomo’s Ronald Völker with the overall TQ from free agent Yannic Prümper and Marc Rheinard, the latter campaigning an Awesomatix car. The triple A-mains saw Ronald taking wins in A1 and A2 for an early overall while Mark Rheinard snatched the overall runner-up spot with a win in A3. Yannic Prümper had to settle for 3rd overall as Yokomo’s Christopher Krapp completed the top 4.

Jörn Neumann sweeps IFMAR GT Worlds

Homestead RC Raceway of Homestead, Florida played host to the 2020 IFMAR GT World Championships last week. The event was held in both Nitro and Electric classes and attracted nearly 80 entries. Qualifying in the Nitro class was won by Alessio Mazzeo from Meen Vejrak in 2nd and Jeff Hamon in 3rd. In the Electric class it was Martin Bayer with the overall TQ from Jörn Neumann in 2nd and Felix Law in 3rd.

Bruno Coelho joins Xtreme Aerodynamics

Xtreme Aerodynamics have announced the signing of multi-time IFMAR World Champion, Bruno Coelho to their team. The Xray factory driver will use Xtreme Aerodynamic’s body shells to deck out all of his on-road rides from now on and he has the following to say about the deal:

I’m really happy to announce that I decided to join Xtreme Aerodynamics! I’ve been following the work of Xtreme in on-road nitro classes and how they totally dominate that market and since they joined electric TC their results have been impressive. The new Xtreme Twister is for sure the body of the moment and I can’t wait to start this project. Finally I want to say thank you to Cristian Boni for the great opportunity and see you all in the next race!

2020 INS10 & NCTS2 Series – Announcement

JConcepts have announced their INS10 and NCTS2 series for the 2020 season. 2020 marks a truly remarkable milestone as the JConcepts Indoor National Series will now be in its 10th year as the most highly participated 1/10th dirt off-road series in the world. However, JConcept’s vision doesn’t stop there. The proactive company also wanted to elevate the carpet and turf off-road racing scene and cater to all types of racers and that’s why JC went all in to established the JConcepts National Carpet and Turf Series last year. Being the only unified and true indoor nationwide off-road series for both carpet and dirt, JConcept’s aim is to create lasting memories and amazing experiences for all racers no matter the skill level or surface. Using a very similar formula to the INS that focuses on fun and adrenaline pumping action, the participants of the inaugural year of the NCTS instantly felt right at home with the racer friendly familiar format, racing at world class facilities, and face challenges of competing against the finest drivers that will bring the best in everyone. To keep things relevant and the series fresh, the organizers made a few tweaks to the INS10 and NCTS2 for better racing and even more fun. Essex Carpet Clash Rd4 – Report

Round 4 of the Essex Carpet Clash championship was this past weekend, and the team had a slight change up for the driver for this round, running in the opposite, anti-clockwise, direction compared to all previous rounds. After the four rounds of qualifying, it was Stephen Brown in 4WD that took the pole position securing it by TQ’ing all rounds. Mark Lewis was hot on his tail and lines up 2nd on the grid ahead of John Painter.
