Huber & Marzini win at Swiss EP On-road Nats finale

The final round of the Swiss Electric On-road Nationals was held at the Schaffhausen track recently. In the Touring Pro Stock class it was Nuno Huber with the overall TQ after the qualifiers and also the wins in all three A-main events. Michael Koch came in 2nd from Luigi Manzo in 3rd. Over in the Formula class it was Fabio Marzini with the TQ and win, leaving behind Michael Wuest in 2nd from Giacomo Moretti 3rd. With the win, Fabio also secured himself the overall Formula title.

Slovakian 1/10th Buggy Championship Rd8 – Report

The 8th and final round of the 1/10th Off-road Championship was held in Bratislava recently. Right from the start the weather looked to play a factor and after Q1 it started to rain slightly but got worse over the day meaning the organisers had to call the race a day before the finals. This meant Lacko Toth would take the win in 4WD Buggy with Peter Tauber coming in 2nd and Milos Svihran ending the day on the 3 spot.

Hungarian 1/8th Off-road Nationals Rd7 – Report

The 7th and final round of the Hungarian 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held at the Rame-RC track in Homokbodoge. In the Nitro Buggy class it was Pal Vasvari with the win from Peter Kozma 2nd and Janos Pittman in 3rd. The E-Buggy class, also held in changing weather conditions, it was Antonia Kovalszki with the TQ. In the finals Antonia, Stefan Lutka and Zsombor Fekete had some exciting fights for the overall win with Antonia ultimately holding the upper hand from Stefan 2nd and Zsombor 3rd.

Colombian Electric On-road Champs Rd3 – Report

Round 3 of the Colombian National 1/10th Electric On-road Championship was held at the Pista Speedway RC track in Rionegro, Antioquia last weekend. The schedule saw two rounds of qualifying and five main legs, with a Reedy style points system being used. In 10.5T Touring Superstock it was Jorge Rodriguez (Awesomatix) taking the TQ and win over Sebastian Marin (Xray) in 2nd place and Leonardo Buitrago (Xray) in 3rd, after a tight battle over the five races.

Jackson Andres takes back-to-back NCT title

Round 6 of the Northwest Championship Tour was held in Yakima last weekend. It was the final round of the largest outdoor RC series in the Pacific Northwest, with approximately 300 entries per round. In 4WD Modified Buggy Jackson Andres (Yokomo) was able to TQ the final round. However he and his team unfortunately didn’t have the car set up quite right for the wet mains, so he finished just off of the podium this race. That being said, Jackson was able to capture the overall series title for 4WD, and repeat as champion in back to back years. Joe Cathey (Serpent) came in 2nd overall from Robert Sorjonen (Xray) in 3rd.

Van Helmond sweeps Belgian EP Off-road Nats Rd7

The final round of the Belgian Electric Off-road Nationals was held in Zolder last weekend. The track and wet weather conditions were pretty challenging for the drivers and it was Wesley van Helmond who would lead the 23-entry 2WD Buggy class in the opening two qualifiers for the overall TQ from Wouter Wynen in 2nd. The finals then saw again Wesley holding the upper hand and with wins in A1 and A2 he would take the day’s win from Wouter Wynen and Jonas Martens in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Alex Martinez wins at Catalonian Off-road Champs Rd5

The Club Automodelisme Mollerussa track in Spain played host to round 5 of the Catalonian Off-road Championship last weekend. The event was held in Nitro, Electric and Entry Level classes and in 1/8th E-Buggy it was Alex Martinez Fole (Team Associated) with the overall TQ, beating Ramon Chancho Marti in the tie-breaker. The triple 10-minutes A-mains then saw Alex making a clean sweep in all three for the overall as Ramon Chancho Marti (Mugen) came in 2nd from Marti Prat Mayans (Mugen) in 3rd.

Noah Davis takes 2019 USVTA Jr National Championship

Apex Raceway and Hobbies of Murfreesboro, Tennessee recently held the 2019 USVTA Southern Nationals with nearly 190 entries for the 1/10th electric on-road classes. Creator and promoter, Myron “Battman” Kinnard put on a show of shows for carpet on-road racing. It’s the event dubbed “The One Not To Miss” over the last nine years, which included a solid 17-hour practice day to make sure everyone had plenty of time to get tuned in. Classes ranged from Modified Touring Car to Jr VTA to Euro/Semi Truck. The event attracted multiple racers from over 25 states, including California and New York. Also bringing in National champions like Sam Isaac, Brandon Clements, Matt Lyons, John Barron, and of course, track owner Eric EA Anderson, and many others. As Sunday rolled around the spectators would see the best race of the weekend in the Battle for the Belt in Jr VTA between TQ Noah Davis and runner-up Logan Pilcher. At the start it was a back-and-forward corner-to-corner battle between two young racers. The race came down to lapped traffic and two corners – a .0445 difference which crowned Noah Davis as the 2019 USVTA Jr National Champion. Logan came in 2nd as Noah Dyer rounded out the top 3.
