JConcepts Summer INS8 – Report

The 2018 JConcepts Summer INS8 was held at Action Hobby in Chandler, Arizona last weekend. Within a few short years, the facility has nestled itself as one of America’s beloved race track. It’s unique, it’s filled with people that genuinely care, and perhaps the biggest highlight is the facility and location can’t get much better. With races that sell out in minutes, Hobby Action has established itself among the world’s best and is well known for the Desert Classic and the JConcepts Summer Indoor National Series. However, this year, Hobby Action has stepped up and will soon play host to the 2018 1/10th Electric Nationals this August. This year’s track had a lot of elevation changes from dips to elevated turns, it kept racers constantly on their toes as the only thing that was flat was the straightaway (and rightfully so). The jumps weren’t large or monumental, but the tricky approaches to the jumps played a heavy role on the fast laps. Overall, the laps were easy to produce but fast laps were hard to come by as reaching the limit was greeted with traction roles and off-line spinouts.

Slovakian 1/10 Buggy Nationals Rd3 – Report

The third round of the Slovakian 1/10th scale electric off-road nationals took place last weekend in Kosice. The technical track with a long straight offers a combination of different surfaces and the TQ in 4WD went to Lacko Toth while in 2WD it was local driver Adam Urban with the pole position for the finals. As the sunny day went on, the track dried out and all the finals were run on a dusty surface and in very low traction conditions. The winners were already decided in both classes after A1 and A2, but the remaining podium spots were still up for grabs and it was Adam Urban who took the runner-up spot in 4WD from Roman Pavlus 3rd as Lacko Toth brought home the overall.

Swedish EB Buggy Championship – Report

Last weekend the Swedish 1/10th Buggy Championship was held at the Orebro Radio Bil Club race track. The track is of a very 1990’s style dirt design which always produces exciting racing in a different style than is the common norm today. To this added a very high temperature of over 30°C, adding another factor the racers had to cope with. In the 4WD class there was a showdown going into the final qualifier as both Alexander Landen and Wilhelm Skjoldebrand were in the mix for the overall TQ. Both drivers produced more or less flawless runs, while setting the two fastest runs of the day. Wilhelm however managed to slightly edge out Alexander, so Wilhelm would take the TQ.
