AMK RC club race Rd2 – Report

The recent second round of the AMK RC club race saw Igor Liptak (Xray) taking the TQ honours in the Touring Stock 17.5T class. Igor went on to win the A-main final also, completely sweeping the competition with the Xray duo of Tomas Valent and Milos Svihran rounding out the top 3 results.

Greek Electric Off-road Championship finale – Report

The final round of the Greek 1/10th Electric Off-road Championship was held recently at the FRT track in Stamata. In the 4WD class it was a total domination by Dimitris Foteinos, driving his Yokomo to the top of the podium at each race both at RC Brushless Park and FRT making him the undeniable Greek champion for the year 2017. Right behind him Nikos Katexakis (Yokomo) and 3rd placed Nicolas Floudas (Team Associated) rounded out the podium.

Serpent sign Fangzhou “Rocket” Zhang

Serpent have announced the signing of Chinese frontrunner, Fangzhou Zhang, better known as Rocket Zhang. Rocket is a multiple A-finalist at events such as the TITC, AOC and Chinese National Championships. Rocket will pilot Serpent’s Project 4X touring car at national and international events and he has the following to say:

Thank you very much to Serpent and Mr. Liu for giving me the opportunity to join the team. Serpent has always been a well-known RC brand, has a very complete product lines. I ran Serpent for the first time with the 710 GP to participate in the competition more than 10 years ago. With joining Serpent and be able to get the opportunity to help for researching and development as well as testing is a very wonderful thing. I do really honoured to join the team.

Joao Figueiredo doubles at RC Oeste track opening

Indoor RC Oeste recently held a grand opening race to celebrate their new 1/8th off-road outdoor track. Kyosho driver Joao Figueiredo took the TQ in the nitro class and he would also bring home the win from TLR’s Goncalo Melo and Xray’s Pedro Gomes. Over in E-Buggy it was again Joao with the in s Pedro and Goncalo battled for the 2 spot with the better end for Pedro as Goncalo had to settle for 3rd overall.

Danish DRCMU Electric Indoor Nats Rd4 – Report

The Danish town of Tinglev near the German border played host to round 4 of the DRCMU series recently. In the Touring Modified class Xray’s Mike Gosvig made a clean sweep in the qualifiers and finals, winning all legs with a two to four second margin. Awesomatix driver Patrick Hornum would come in 2nd from Patrick Danielsen (Xray) 3rd.

Czech Open Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Czech Open Electric On-road Series was held recently and in the Touring Modified class it was Matej Šulc (Xray) who took all qualifiers by over seven seconds from Petr Grof (Yokomo) 2nd and Michal Blahovský (Xray) 3rd. In finals Petr found some speed and got close to Matej but ultimately it was Matej with the win over Petr and Michal.

Roberto Alessandrelli wins at TIT Cup Rd1

The opening round of the TIT Cup was held in Schöftland, Switzerland in Touring Pro Stock and Formula classes. In Pro Stock it was Roberto Alessandrelli with the TQ from Philipp Huber, who took two round TQs in the opening two qualifiers, and Maurice Lüscher in 3rd. In the finals Roberto was able to conserve his qualifying performance to take the win from Maurice in 2nd, while Philipp had to settle for 3rd despite two 2nd place finishes in the triple mains.

Wynn & Schafer win at FSEARA On-road Series Rd3

Race 3 of the FSEARA On-road Series was hosted by Village Raceway in Royal Palm Beach, Florida over the weekend. The track was extremely high-speed, high traction, and slightly bumpy, which proved to be a tricky combination for most of the racers. Paul Wynn went on to TQ all three rounds of qualifying and lead wire to wire to take the win in the prestigious Pro Mod class. While privateer racer Troy Schafer TQ’d round one of qualifying in the Expert 17.5 Stock class. Troy had to settle for P3 on the grid after three rounds and in the A-main he had a small mistake on lap one that dropped him back to fourth, but he put his head down and quickly ran down the top three with the fastest laps of the race to go on to take the win.
