Myron Kinnard wins at USVTA National Championship

The USVTA Nationals came to “Music City” Nashville, Tennessee to compete in the eighth year of this event. The race started off with open and controlled practice and with the new CRC black carpet and the extremely high traction, getting the vehicles not to traction roll became obligation number one for the drivers. Everything from gluing sidewalls and running new tires came into play and would make or break you for a podium finish. In the Pro Invitational class, run with handout motors and tires to stress drivers and their setup skills even more, Myron Kinnard would bring home the win in the 10-minute encounter after a fast, smooth, and clever drive on the black carpet.

VBC Racing welcomes Toni Mateo

Spaniard Toni Mateo is the latest addition to VBC Racing’s growing portfolio of drivers, the Asian manufacturer announced. An ETS Pro Stock A-main finisher, the Gran Canaria based former Yokomo driver brings a wealth of experience to the team.

Jackie Shum signs with Yokomo

Yokomo have announced the addition of Hong Kong based Jackie Shum to their team. Jackie will enforce the Asian Yokomo team with attendances at races in Hong Kong, mainland China, Thailand and Japan and he has the following to say about the deal:

First of all, big thanks to Tom, Aso and Umino for giving me this opportunity to become a Team Yokomo driver. It is definitely a very important milestone in my RC life. I will keep racing and help promote Yokomo brand in the future. I am also looking forward to seeing you guys at the track soon. Once again, thanks Annie Chan and Alan Chan from Waigo Hobby for giving me support in the previous years.

Stephen Lander teams up with MD Racing

MD Racing have announced the signing of UK’s Stephen Lander to their team. Stephen brings a wealth of knowledge, having raced RC cars competitively for over 30 years, winning him both regional and national titles. His campaign will include the BRCA Indoor National series, starting this weekend, and the BRCA National outdoor championship. Stephen says:

I’d like to thank Vicente Mechancoses and the guys at MD Racing for this exciting opportunity to team up with them as a factory driver and MD Racing UK driver representative by running the MD F14 Formula car , having seen the quality and attention to detail in the development cars, I am keen to help them launch this new brand on to the UK racing scene. I look forward to working alongside Owner Vicente Mechancoses and the design team in the cars future development and intend to compete at the highest level and hope to help bring the brand many race victories. Xray Racing Series Slovakia – Announcement

The world-renown Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin will play host to the Xray Racing Series Slovakia over the Winter season of 2016/17. Starting at the 5th of November the 6-race series will be held in the classes of Touring Modified, Touring Stock 13.5, 1/10th Pan Car, 1/12th Pan Car, Formula 21.5 as well as off-road 2WD, 4WD and 2WD Truck. Hönigl crowned double Austrian 1/10th Buggy champ

The 2016 Austrian Electric Off-road National Championship recently concluded with round five held at the WBC Hoheneich club in the north of the country. As one round was cancelled due to rain this was actually the forth round and was local hero, Roland Macho (Xray) who excelled in the 4WD Buggy class by taking the TQ in all qualifying rounds to leave Martin Kreil (TLR) and Hupo Hönigl (Xray) behind in second and third respectively.

Malin Karlsen sweeps OMK Fall Classic Rd4

The fourth round of the OMK Fall Classic 2WD Buggy race series was held under floodlight at the OMK astro turf track. The race format was open practice followed by three qualifiers and triple mains. Xray’s Malin Karlsen swept the qualifiers to take a dominant TQ with the only 15-laps run of the evening and she also brought home an easy win in the opening A-main. A2 was a different affair though as her buggy got hit from behind in the first corner and so she dropped down the order but with some swift laps she easily recovered to get back into the lead and to take the win and with it the overall victory at round 4 from Serpent driver Marius Kristensen and Team Associated pilot Morten Bremsrud.

Eric Anderson doubles at Southern VTA Nationals

The 2016 Southern VTA Nationals took place at Thunder RC in Nashville, Tennessee. The race has become a yearly event held shortly before the IIC and is used for a warm-up race by many. This year was no exception as the house was full of people and fast racers with over 110 entries for the several classes. Practice started on Friday morning with the pits full and lots of people getting track time on the new CRC FT2 black carpet. Everyone found out quickly that tire glue and aluminium chassis were needed in all classes. In Touring Car the fast guys were Michael Skeen, Matthew Lyons, Eric Anders and also a few other guys quickly got up to speed. In 1/12th scale 13.5 who showed fast laps from the start while in VTA Cody Armes and Myron Kinnard were up front as usual. In the USGT class Matt Lyons was the man to beat.  Once qualifying started the same guys were up front with Eric Anderson being able to TQ every round of Touring Car and 12th scale. Cody took the TQ in the VTA class and Matt Lyons was able to TQ the USGT class.
