Xray sign young Alexander Landen

Xray have announced the signing of young swedish talent, Alexander Landen to their junior racing program. The 10-years old will race 1/10th electric off-road at events such as the EOS, the WBC races, the Swedish National Cup and more and he has the following to say about the deal:

I am very happy for this opportunity and I am of course very proud. I have been running Xray cars for the last 2 years with a great success. The quality and attention to details in the products are top notch and the performance and reliability of the products are superior. With the recent release of the new 2WD platform we believe the Xray overall package currently is the strongest in the 1/10 off road racing market on all surfaces. Therefore this seems as a perfect time to join a very successful team and I will do my best to represent the team.

John Spencer teams up with PR Racing UK

PR Racing UK and Inside Line Racing have announced that top UK RC driver John Spencer is joining the team to run the 4WD PRSB401 buggy. John is well known on the European RC racing scene being a BRCA National A-finalist and multiple European top 20 finisher. As the DMS Racing shop manager he has loads of day to day experience to offer to the PR UK team and racers in general regarding set ups and improving your lap times.

Chen Yanfu wins at Beijing BGP opening race

The recent Beijing BGP opening race saw the running of a 1/12th 13.5T spec class and it was Lu Yi Heng (Xray) who took the TQ after the triple qualifiers. The battle for the overall TQ was a very close one with Lu finally grabbing the TQ in the third and final qualifier by 0.4 seconds. In the triple A-mains Lu suffered from setup issues with the car constantly traction rolling on the grippy CRC black carpet. Chen Yanfu (Xray) made maximum use of the situation to bring home the win from TQ holder Lu Yi Heng while Liu Yunan (Kyosho) completed the top 3 result.

Peter Pinisch doubles at rain-affected Austrian Nats Rd3

Last weekend the third round of the Austrian Nationals was held at the dirt track TSA Krieglach. The weather forecast for the race day was not so good and the rain stopped the race after three rounds of qualifying. Schumacher’s Peter Pinisch took the win in both classes with the fastest time of the day. The Team Associated duo of Stefan Pfeifhofer and Lucas Grainer would side-line Peter on the 2WD podium while Hupo Hönigl (Xray) and Marcel Rekettye completed the 4WD top 3 result.

Victorian Drivers Series Rd2 – Report

Round two of the Victorian Drivers Series was held at the regional club on Mildura, around 550km northwest of Melbourne. Over 140 entries were received for the event, including close to 20 in the under 16 junior class, the first to be held at the famous club’s new facility which their members ha. With a very large red clay track with a unique diagonal centre straight, and winter desert climate giving freezing mornings and sunny afternoons, the event was a challenge for all racers. The surface was very cold and slick in the mornings but grooved up through the day, making tyre choice critical. With the large entries the meeting was run over 3 days, practice Friday and Saturday morning, qualifying Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, finals Sunday afternoon.

Gavin Kwok wins at Chinese GM Cup

GMCGavin Kwok wins at Chinese GM Cupup

The 3-Circles Battery track in Xiamen, China recently played host to the GM Cup. In the triple Touring Modified A-mains Xray driver Gavin Kwok would take wins in A1 and A2 after being in battles with both Xray team mate Gary Huang and Yokomo’s Faiho. Ultimately Gary would grab the runner-up spot with two second place finishes and even a win in A3, where he also scored the fastest lap of the weekend, while Faiho had to settle for third overall.

2017 The Dirt Nitro Challenge – Announcement

The Dirt Racing have announced that the 18th annual, 2017 The Dirt Nitro Challenge will once again be held at the famous Fear Farm facility in Phoenix, Arizona. The dates are set at February 22nd to 26th 2017. As the new entry and class limit proved to be a success, with the 2016 race selling out and allowing the event to run smoothly with a scheduled race itinerary and 10 pm finish time, the 2017 DNC will continue to implement the same format to insure a successful, scheduled event. As usual The Dirt offers a discounted entry fee for a limited time in the Summer. Starting Saturday June 18th the early entry fee is 60US$ and it will be available until an allotted number of entries are sold. Classes will be the same as last year with the 40+ drivers allowed to run in addition to the regular classes. Bima Racing Track On–road Touring Champs – Report

The Colombian Electric On-Road regional championship recently concluded, with all the seven rounds, run from January to May, being held at the well-known Bima Racing Track in the capital city of Bogota. After the seven rounds, Andres Chaparro (Tamiya) would walk away with the title in Touring Superstock 10.5T, showing consistent performances over the season. Jorge Rodriguez (Xray) took the vice–championship title and Alejandro Marulanda (Xray) would manage the final podium spot from Leonardo Buitrago (Tamiya) in fourth.
