Suwardi Suliandy TQs & wins at Indonesia Nats Rd3

The third round of Indonesia National Championship was held at the Marina Red Carpet Circuit in Semarang in the two classes of Touring Stock and FWD. The weather was fairly hot and dry with no rain all weekend. In the 13.5T Boosted class, Suwardi Suliandy (Xray) took the TQ from Chandra Yosef and Ronny Suwarto (both Xray). In the A-mains Suwardi was able to conserve his qualifying performance to came out fastest in A1 and A2 while Ronny grabbed the win in A3. Behind Suwardi and after the tie-breaker with Ronny, Chandra took the runner-up spot, leaving Ronny in third.

Wang Haifeng wins at RC Beijing GP

The RC Beijing GP was held at the new Incom Arena in Beijing, China, with racers from as far as Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai in attendance. Special guest for the event, that saw Electric Touring, 1/12th scale Pancar and 1/10th Le Mans classes, was 14-time IFMAR World Champion, Masami Hirosaka. In the Touring class young Nicholas Xu grabbed the 4 spot on the grid behind TQ Hirosaka who was followed by Zhang and Wang.

Rasmussen & Gosvig win at Danish EP Off-road Nats Rd3

The third round of this year’s Danish 1/10th Off–road Nationals was held at the Viborg RC racing club. In the 2WD Buggy class, run on Saturday, Yokomo’s Frederik Hovgaard took the TQ after the qualifiers from Jesper Rasmussen. The latter than dominated the A–main events by scoring wins in A1 and A2 to grab the overall win early, allowing him to sit out A3. Mike Gosvig (Xray), who was fastest after the practice rounds, had some mixed qualifiers and finals with a fourth and third place in A1 and A2 but the win in A3 secured him the runner–up spot from Kim Nielsen (Schumacher) while TQ holder Frederik Hovgaard had to settle for fourth.

BRCA Touring Car Nationals Rd2 – Report

This last weekend saw the BRCA Touring Car Nationals head to Adur near Brighton on the south coast of England. Unusually for the UK the drivers were blessed with great sunshine all weekend and with low winds the track conditions were quite different to the previous weekend’s Schumacher BTCC race. Schumacher’s Elliott Harper was in a different league this weekend TQ-ing the first three rounds of qualifying just using one set of three allocated sets of Sorex 32RY tyres. In Pro Stock James Hart (Schumacher) was taking the fight to current BRCA champ Zak Finlay (Xray) putting in some strong performances to line up second on the grid.

RC Lemans Series Rd4 – Report

Round four of the RC Lemans Series was held at the EVMC club in Velp, The Netherlands over the weekend. Following cold and rainy low-grip conditions at the previous rounds all drivers were looking forward to a sunny weekend with asphalt temperatures of about 50 degree Celsius. In the LMP1 Modified class Sven Stoffels took the TQ only a couple of tenth of a second from championship leader Tim Altmann. Reinder Wilms matched Tim’s time down to a hundred of a second over the five minute run. Behind the three Philipp Paul, Kai Altmann, Tobias Weist, Andy Dick and Joachim Behnken were not far away, promising some exciting A-mains.

Elliott Boots doubles at BRCA E8 & Truggy Nats Rd3

Round three of the BRCA E8 and Truggy Nationals was held at the popular Herts track over the weekend. Jack Embling would take the TQ in both classes but it was Elliott Boots who came out successful in the 12-minute E-Buggy final, leaving Darren Bloomfield behind by under a second. Jonathan Skidmore in third completed the podium result a lap down. Elsewhere in the Truggy class it was again Elliott who came out successful in the A-main final.

Vintage OffRoad Nationaux 2016 – Announcement

The city of Nancy in France will play host to the French Vintage Offroad Nationals on the 18th and 19th of June. The Nationaux will see the running of 2WD and 4WD classes for pre-1995 buggies along a special Grasshopper category that will allow buggies such as the Tamiya Grasshopper and Hornet, Academy Road Runner, Traxxas Cat and others. Murray & Tinaglia successful at Schumacher Day Italy

Last week saw the 2016 Schumacher Day event held at the Miniautodromo Ca de Mandorli Circuit in Bologna, Italy. Saturday saw an open track day where racers had useful track time to perfect their car setup for this fast flowing circuit. After a nice sunny Saturday, Sunday morning came and racers were greeted with some rain. Sadly this caused some of the racers to leave, but for those who stayed, would later enjoy a dry track and more sunshine. With half of the qualifying run in wet conditions, it would be the pairing of Andy Murray in Open Modified and Alessio Tolomelli in Stock who would take the pole positions in their respective classes.
