AMCT Tours 24 hours race – Announcement

The AMCT Tour club will hold a 24 hours race on the weekend of the 18th of June 2016. The track is located in the Loire valley only around 80 kilometres away from the iconic city of Le Mans. Cars allowed to race are 2WD pan cars such as converted 1/10th formula cars, WGTs or dedicated rubber tyre pan cars with bodyshells raced at the actual Le Mans 24 hours race. All cars have to be equipped with lights and “blinky” brushless speed controllers while the 17.5T motors are provided by the organisers. Two sets of Ride XR tyres are also provided while special rain tyres are allowed in case of a wet race. The event kicks off on Friday with open practice and the actual 24 hours race starts on Saturday at 1 pm. Xray Winter Series Morava Rd3 – Report

The third round of the Xray Winter Series Morava was held just before Christmas and it attracted a total of 105 entries in the five classes of Touring Open, Touring Stock 17.5T, Formula, GT and Hobby. In the Open class Kuba Simurda lead the proceedings right from the start but he was closely followed by young and talented Oliver Havranek who did his best to stay in touch with Kuba. Although he tried very hard, bad luck for Oliver meant he had to settle for third overall in the finals with Michal Vitamvas grabbing the runner-up spot.

Kaja Novotny dominates Open Challenge Rd4

The fourth round of the Open Challenge was held in Prague, Czech Republic this past weekend. As usual the track was nicely prepared, sporting some huge jumps but the traction was higher than at the previous rounds which was welcomed by most racers. Xray’s Kaja Novotny grabbed the TQ in both the 2WD and 4WD buggy classes and he continued to dominate the field in the A-mains also, taking the overall wins in both classes along with the fastest laps. In the 2WD class Zdenek Miksovsky (Xray) ended the event on the runner-up spot from Martin Wünsche (Team Associated) in third.

Nico Risser doubles at OSS XXL GP

The Olibollen Cross XXL race was held just before the Christmas holidays and it saw Xray’s Nico Risser taking the TQ in both the 2WD and 4WD buggy classes. Nico went on to dominate the finals also, taking the overall win in both 2WD and 4WD. Oliver Speith (Schumacher) would grab the runner-up in 2WD in front of Schumacher teammate Bart Mulin. In the 4WD class D. Pauwels (Yokomo) ended the race in the second place from Kristof Dehert (Xray) in third.

Risser & Crolla win at Avesnes club race

The annual Avesnes club race saw the attendance of around 110 drivers to battle it out on the club’s very slippery carpet track. Both the 2WD and 4WD buggy class saw some epic battles between Nicolas Risser and Lorenzo Crolla and in the premier 2WD class Nicolas came out successful from young Clement Boda with Lorenzo Crolla ending the day in third place. In the 4WD class Lorenzo would then hold the upper hand over Nicolas who grabbed the runner-up spot after the finals. Anthony Demarais rounded out the podium result in third.

Wood & Schraders win at Masters of Foam race

The 2015 Masters of Foam race was held this past weekend at the RC Arena Limburg in Belgium. The event attracted both internationally experienced top drivers as well as local talent to race in the three classes of 1/12th Modified, 10.5 Stock and 17.5 Stock. The 10.5T class had UK’s Tim Wood coming out fastest after the qualifiers with Steven Koiter and Ollie Payne in tow. The finals then proved to be a very entertaining affair with Tim winning the opening leg from Joey Sorber while in A2 Steven Koiter came out successful from Rico Claeys. Pole-sitter Tim Wood only ended the race on the fourth place behind Ollie Payne. The third and final A-main then had Rico Claeys coming out fastest from Tim Wood meaning both would end tie on points, but the better tie-breaker handed Tim the win from Rico with Steven rounding out the top 3 result.

Griffin & Munday take Victorian Drivers Series titles

The Victorian Drivers series is one of the biggest in Australia and 2015 was the biggest yet, with over 480 entries received for four rounds of 1/10th electric outdoor dirt racing in Victoria, South Eastern Australia. Running from April through November, the series finished with the Keilor Cup, with over 150 entries received for the one-day event. In the premier 2WD Modified Buggy class, the series came down to the last race of the last round between Matt Griffin and Ray Munday and ultimately Griffin took the series title by one point from Ray. In 4WD Modified, Ray Munday took the series after three rounds, with young teammate Cameron Zammit finishing second.

Olivier Bultynck joins Awesomatix

Russian company Awesomatix have announced the signing of six-time Belgium Champion Olivier Bultynck to their team. Olivier will use Awesomatix’ all-new A800 touring car during his 2016 campaign that will include attendances at national and international events such as the ETS, the Euros in Slovakia, as well as selected other races such as the GP3F and the Hot Race Cup. Olivier had the following to say:

I’m really excited to join Awesomatix team and thankful for the opportunity from Oleg and Max. Looking forward to work with the team and get some good results for together. I also want to thanks VBC for their support for the last couple of years! I wish them all the best of luck.
