Perez & Ratheisky win at Spanish National Series

Perez & Ratheisky win at Spanish National Series

The final round of the Spanish National Series was held in Barakaldo, Spain in the three classes of Touring Modified, Touring Stock and Formula. With rain being forecasted during the weekend the organisers tried to get through the qualifiers as quick as possible and in the Modified class it was David Perez who grabbed the overall TQ thanks to a blistering final qualifier that also smashed the current track record. In the Formula class Jan Ratheisky would grab a pretty undefeated TQ to get the pole position for the finals. Unfortunately on Sunday heavy rain forced the organisers to cancel the race, meaning the qualifying results would determine the day’s winners. Therefore David Perez (Xray) would take the win in the Touring Modified class from Dominic Vogl (Yokomo) and Jon Ander Lorenzo (Xray) while in the Formula class Jan brought home the win thanks to his TQ.

Super Cup Championship Series Rd2 – Report

Super Cup Championship Series Rd2 – Report

199 racers from all over Florida made their way to Beachline Raceway in Cocoa for the recent round 2 of JConcepts’ Super Cup Championship Series. Beachline’s large indoor pitting area filled in the early morning with racers quickly setting up to turn practice laps while working on tuning and tire combinations. Racing went live at 9:30am with 48 heats to be run over 2 rounds of qualifying. For the main event of the day, Modified 4WD was shaping up to be a epic showdown of skill and talent. JR Mitch set TQ with a time of 17/5:04.459. Mitch would amass a quick lead over Ryan Eckert. It looked as if Mitch would take a win until lap 9, JR’s car snapped an A-arm giving the lead to Ryan Eckert. Daimon Borkowicz was close behind and looking for the lead, but Eckert ran the clean laps to take the win with Daimon in 2nd. Leon McIntosh raced home for 3rd with Sebatian Hazbun 4th and Alfredo Arrieta 5th.

Ryan Lutz wins E-Buggy at Bring the Heat

Ryan Lutz wins E-Buggy at Bring the Heat

The 2015 Bring The Heat took place in Flowood, Mississippi this past weekend with over 200 entries would do their best on the big elevation changes, tight sections, and big jumps. In 1/8th E-Buggy TQ Ryan Lutz would battle it out with JR Mitch for the first 5 minutes. Lutz would bobble giving JR the lead while falling back to 3rd but Lutz would battle back and get close but never make pass so JR would take the win in the opening A-main. In A2 Lutz would pull a gap but JR Mitch was on a mission, catching Ryan around the 6 minute mark. JR would push hard but too many little mistakes wouldn’t allow JR to capitalize and make a pass so Lutz would take A2. A3 would be a bit rougher as the track had slowed creating a lot more traffic in the back of the field. This would allow Ryan to create a gap and lead tone to tone without pressure. This would give Ryan Lutz the overall, JR Mitch 2nd, Denny 3rd, Dickerson 4th, and Harrison 5th.

Simon Nicholson wins at Newcastle Grand Prix

Simon Nicholson wins at Newcastle Grand Prix

Simon Nicholson, Nathan Reese and Jeffrey Mackie lead a Yokomo 1-2-3 finish at this years Newcastle Grand Prix which attracted a healthy gathering for the relatively new club. The club certainly proved it has the facilities and members to put it on par as one of the best venues in Australia. The medium to high-grip surface played havoc with car setup, however this was overcome relatively quickly with both Simon Nicholson and Nathan Reese breaking track records early on. With the two sharing TQ honours it was Simon who would eventually walk away with the TQ and the first place trophy, with Nathan a close second and Jeffrey in third.
