2015 JConcepts Fall Indoor Nationals – Report

The 2015 JConcepts Indoor National Series made its way to the popular RC Excitement in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Just outside of Boston, with the fall weather beginning to slowly creep in to cooler temperatures in the mornings, and the leaves beginning to change into the bright fall colors that are well known for the region. Inside the facility however, the racing was hot on the fast flowing layout. This year’s circuit had a good flow and feel, with elevation and enough jumps to keep even the experienced drivers on their toes. Todd Anderson and his staff had the track, pit area and shop ready for the weekend full of visitors.

John Doucakis wins at Greek TC Nationals Rd3

Round three of the Greek National On-road Championship was held at the Zorri RC track near Athens with many of the country’s top drivers in attendance. Sunday started out in nice weather and with the usual warm-up runs ahead of the qualifiers. With four qualifying rounds of which the two fastest counted and a tyre limit of two sets for the day, tyre strategy was important. In the opening qualifier John Doucakis (Awesomatix) dominated the proceedings in the Touring Modified class by scoring a 17 laps 5:13 run, two seconds clear of reigning champion, Nick Georgiadis (Xray) and touring car veteran, Dimitris Mitropoulos (Yokomo).

5th Annual JConcepts Fall Brawl – Announcement

AMain Performance Hobbies’ Outback Raceway presents the 5th Annual JConcepts “Fall Brawl” on November 7th to 8th. Run on an all-new layout and using an accurate event timetable the organisers are keeping the “Buggy Brawl” format, which provided for some great triple A-main racing following bump-up B-mains. The event will see Open 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes along Pro Stock, Stock and 40+ categories. More information can be found on the event’s Facebook page here and sign-up is available here.

Laszlo Kiss-Orban wins Hungarian E-Buggy title

The final round of the Hungarian Off-road National Championship was held at the RCOR track in Apaj. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class Laslo Kiss-Orban was the pre-event favourite going into the season finale and he would not disappoint as he grabbed another podium finish as he took the win from Zoltan Bognar and Janos Pakot in second and third respectively. With the win Laszlo also took the overall Hungarian National Championship.

Leo Arnold teams up with Xray

Xray have announced the signing of French National Champion Leo Arnold to their on-road team. Leo will be racing at national and international 1/8th and 1/10th scale events using Xray’s RX8, NT1 and T4 cars. Leo’s campaign will include attendances at the ENS, ETS and European Championships and 3-times French Cup winner and multiple ENS and ETS finalist has the following to day about the deal:

I’m very motivated to join Xray for the upcoming season. The support that the factory and the team can give me is the best way to obtain better result. Xray is the most professional RC factory in the world, with high quality product and constant development, so it’s with big intention that I join the team. Olly Jefferies joins Hot Race Tyres

Top international on-road racer Olly Jefferies has signed to race with Hot Race Tyres for the 2016 season. Olly will be using the tyres during his upcoming 1/12th scale campaign and he will also be helping to with 1/10th touring car tyre development.

Adam Drake triples at JBRL Nitro Series Rd7

Round seven of the 2015 JBRL Nitro Series was held at Dialed In R/C Raceway in Victorville, California this past weekend. Run in the usual range of Expert, Intermediate and Sportsman classes the event again attracted a good amount of internationally experienced racers as well as local talent and in 1/8th Expert Buggy it was Adam Drake (Mugen) who took the win from Kyle Johnson (Kyosho) and Team Associated’s own Richard Saxton.

Lorenzo Crolla doubles at RCmag Cup

The French RCmag Cup was held in Viglain in four different nitro and electric classes. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy category Xray’s Lorenzo Crolla and TLR driver Jerome Sartel battled for the TQ with the better end for Lorenzo who would take the overall TQ from Jerome while Valentin Lopez (Radiosistemi) rounding out the top 3. Lorenzo would then also dominate the semifinals, taking the pole position for the main final with Jerome Sartel in second and Romain Valter on the 3 spot. In the main Lorenzo again never looked back to take the overall win some 20 seconds clear of Jerome Sartel while Valentin Lopes completed the top 3 another two laps down. Elsewhere in the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was again Jerome who came out successful after TQing all four rounds of qualifying and winning the first three out of four A-final legs.
