Dutch Electric On-road Nationals Rd4 – Report

Dutch Electric On-road Nationals Rd4 – Report

Round four of the Dutch Electric On-road Nationals was held at the RACO2000 track in Utrecht. The weather forecast for Saturday wasn’t very promising, so only a few drivers joined the open practice for testing and track time. In the morning it was dry, but around noon the clouds opened and the practice was washed away by a lot of rain. Most drivers packed their stuff and went home beside three brave guys who ultimately quit around 3 pm when things got even worse with a lot of wind and even more rain. On Sunday thankfully things were a lot different from the day before with nice and sunny weather. After three rounds of qualifying the Touring Modified class had Rob Janssen (Team Magic) taking the TQ from Jetze Reitsma (Spec-R) and Richard Arts (Tamiya). Touring Stock 13.5 saw Sybrand de Boer (Tamiya) coming out fastest from Fokke Groen (Xray) and Rick van den Akker (Xray). Finally in the Formula class Martijn van der Heijden (Xray) took the pole position for the finals from Axel Kleingeld (CRC) and Tim Jansen (Serpent).

Swedish National Series Rd2 – Report

Swedish National Series Rd2 - Report

Round 2 of the Swedish National 1/10th Buggy Series was held at the Skarpnäck astroturf track just outside of Stockholm. The 2WD class was run on Saturday and just in time for the practice heats rain started to fall. The organisers decided to postpone the start and thus only two 7-minute heats of practice would be held on a still wet track. After the four qualifiers local driver Niclas Mansson (Team Associated) took the TQ from young Malin Karlsen (Xray). In the triple A-mains Niclas would win A1 and A2 to grab the overall win early while Malin took the win in A3 to snatch the runner-up spot. Wilhelm Skjoldebrand (Team Associated) rounded out the top 3 result.

Speed King Tour Rd4 – Report

Speed King Tour Rd4 – Report

The fourth round of the Speed King Tour 2015 was hosted by the Green Park Speedway in the Saitama prefecture last weekend. The track is a high-speed affair that is usually used for 1/8th races so the speeds achieved in the Modified class were pretty high. Series leader Akio Sobue again showed a brilliant form after scoring three wins in the series this year and he went on to take the TQ in this fourth round. Unfortunately only two qualifying rounds would be completed due to sudden and heavy rain fall but with the help of all competitors the track could be dried in time for the mains.

2015 Timezone GP – Report

2015 Timezone GP – Report

The 2015 Timezone GP was a race to remember. The sun was out, blistering at near 100 degrees. The track ready and prime, eagerly waiting to be driven on. The stage was set for a special weekend in Battleground, Washington. Unfortunately, this year’s GP kicked off with a bit of bad news as the world famous Charlie Suangka, was unable to attend this year’s race due to a scheduling conflict. The good news was that the unforgettable Scotty Ernst was able to step in as this year’s guest RD. Bringing the excitement all the way from Wisconsin, this would also be Scotty’s 1st trip to Timezone. Other notables that made the trip was everyone’s favorite Canadian and Team Associated’s on-road ace, Keven Hebert. Former world champion, Ralph Burch for RC America/Xray was also on hand to battle in the 1/10th scale nitro sedan class.
