Jesse Davis wins at Asian On-Road Series Melbourne

Leading in to the Melbourne round of this year’s AOC event, everyone’s pick was former World Champion Andy Moore, who made the trip from the UK to battle it out with Australia’s best. Practice on the Thursday left everyone speechless when Australia’s newest edition to Xray, Jesse Davis was 0.4s a lap faster than the World Champ Andy Moore. Come Friday, the competition got tougher, and VBC Star Ryan Maker was in full contention to take on the WC, and let Jesse Davis know this is his track and he is here to stamp his authority. Qualifying commenced on the Friday night and Ryan Maker was to TQ the first round.

Carter & Cousins win at HNMC Summer Series Rd5

Round 5 of the HNMC Summer Series run at Herts Nitro Model Club saw Josh Adams taking the win in the Nitro Buggy class while Steve Carter came out successful in the Nitro Truggy class. Colin Drummond and Phil Saggers completed the podium in 2nd and 3rd respectively. In 1/8th E-Buggy Richard Cousins took the win from Nigel Morris and Ian Fuller.

Ciccarello sweeps 5th Annual Diabetes Charity race

The 5th Annual Diabetes Charity race was held at Medina RC Raceway this past Saturday. Run on a new layout the race was also a bit rain affected and at the end Paul Ciccarello who TQ’d and won the E-Buggy, E-Truggy and Nitro Buggy classes while his Serpent team mate Bill Shaybonez was also able to TQ and win 2WD Buggy.

Darren Bloomfield takes BRCA 2WD buggy title

Darren Bloomfield takes BRCA 2WD title

This weekend was the 5th round of the BRCA Off Road National Series, held at Stotfold Model Car Club. Going into the 2WD event Schumacher’s Darren Bloomfield had a chance to wrap up the 2WD title, whilst Tom Cockerill had an outside chance to take it to the final round with a good result. But it was the Schumacher KF of Simon Moss that led the way in qualifying, taking the opening 2 qualifying rounds to secure TQ.

2014 ROAR paved on-road nationals – Report

The 2014 ROAR paved on-road nationals were held last weekend at the Full Throttle RC Raceway in Kissimmee, Florida, home of this year’s IFMAR electric on-road World Championships. In the Touring Car Modified class it was Rick Hohwart who took the overall TQ from JJ Wang and Andrew Hardman. TC 13.5T non-timing had Scotty Gray securing the TQ spot from Josh Cyrul and Kyle Bergstrom.

Ryan Maifield sweeps 2014 Surf City Classic

The 2014 Surf City Classic took place this past weekend at OC R/C Raceway in Huntington Beach, California. The turnout was great with the pits completely full right from the start of the first practice on. Big names in attendance included current World Champions Jared Tebo Steven Hartson, along with Ryan Cavalieri, Ryan Maifield, Dustin Evans, Cody Turner, Tanner Denney, Spencer Rivkin, Brent Thielke, and Frank Root.

Xray Adriatic Challenge – Report

Xray Adriatic Challenge - Report

The Xray Adriatic Challenge was held in Tolmin, Slovenia under changing weather conditions with divers from Italy, France, Croatia, Romania and Slovenia. The event started with free practice on Saturday but a light rain shower in the late afternoon brought things to a halt earlier than expected. On Sunday the race started off with electric class qualifying in 1/10th TC Modified and Stock. In the Touring Car finals Matej Miklavec took the win in the Modified class followed by Goran Vignevic and Mattia Greco. The 13.5T Stock class had Jan Popic dominating the finals. He was followed by Stanislav Kokol and Adolfo Ferraioli.

Nick Buechler takes NCT Series Rd4

This past weekend round 4 of the NCT series in Burlington, WA was held with just over 200 entries and awesome weather, it was a great weekend for racing. Tekin factory driver Nick Buechler managed to take the overall TQ and a few hard fought A-main wins to secure the number 1 position in the 1/8 E-buggy class. Nick, who is leading the series going into Rd5, was joined on the podium by Tekin teammates Jesse Munn and Anthony Honstain. In the 4WD Mod Buggy class the win went to Jesse Munn with Mike Hudson and Nick Buechler completing the top 3 result.
