Danielsen wins 6th Danish TC round as Holst takes title

The 6th and final round of the Danish National Championships was held at the former DHI-Cup venue in Odense, where this great event was born many years ago. A big and flowing track with technical chicanes made for perfect conditions and close racing. Since it was the final race of the season, the schedule saw 5 rounds of qualifying with the 3 best to count, followed by 3 finals. In the Pro Stock class the fight for the magic A final spots was though, with 3 drivers being in the fight for TQ. Patrick Folman, Niklas Engholm and Søren Boy Holst all won rounds in qualifying – often with less than a second to second spot. At the end Patrick took TQ in a tie-break, with only .087 second from the number 2 driver.

Robert Batlle wins 1st round of Spanish 2WD nats

The first round of the Spanish 2WD buggy nationals took place last weekend at the La Rinconada track. The race started off wet with rain on Saturday morning flooding the track but thanks to the effort of the club members the track was good for practice rounds from afternoon on. Qualifying started on Sunday and at the end it was Carlos Pineda who took the TQ in front of young Carlos Canas and Michael Todd. 1/8th Buggy World Champion Robert Batlle had some less-than-perfect runs, missed the top 3 but made the A-main. Robert then went on to win the opening A-final but TQ Pineda fought back in A2 where he won over Batlle with just over a second. A-main leg 3 would then bring the decision where Robert Batlle (Yokomo/Muchmore) took an easy win allowing him to take the overall win from Carlos Pineda (Associated/LRP) and Michael Todd (Kyosho/Team Orion).

Myron Kinnard wins at 2014 Carpet Showdown

Myron Kinnard wins at 2014 Carpet Showdown

One Lug RC Raceway hosted The 2014 Carpet Showdown in Albertville, Alabama. The Carpet Showdown brought racers from most of the Southeast including Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama. The short track layout generated intense racing and made no room for errors. Close spec racing and the fun factor of the muscle-car bodies added realism to the track, with some back-to-back racing. Tight 180-degree turns and fast, short straights required serious setup and driving control. Team Associated’s Myron Kinnard took his Reedy-powered TC6.2 to the TQ spot in qualifying. In the Main he took full advantage of that TQ position and from the tone took off and left the rest in his wake. Will Sheffield in his Team Associated debut also made the A Main and finished a respectable fifth place.
