Oli Meggitt and the Essex Winter Series (EWS) Organising Team are proud to announce that the series will be returning for its third season later this year.  The EWS is one of the largest and most popular Touring Car championships in the UK and last year was fully booked for every round of the series. Building on that success, the organisers have opted to change little of their proven format.  The Championship is well known for its relaxed, yet competitive atmosphere and will again consist of 6 one-day meetings, held between October 2013 and March 2014.  The racing will take place at Deanes Sports Centre in South-East Essex, on one of the largest carpet tracks in the world, a massive 35×22 metres.  The fully heating pitting area is well lit and mains power is available for all competitors.

Adrian Berntsen wins at '13 Norwegian Outdoor Series

The fourth and final round of the Norwegian national outdoor series was held at the Sorlihavna race track in Lorenskog, just outside of Oslo. The race saw a record entry of drivers with 27 drivers attending in the 1/10 touring modified class which is more than at any other race this season. The Sorlihavna racetrack is a pretty small and technical track which suits the modified-class perfectly but as Q1 started, many drivers struggled to finish their 5 minute heats without troubles. The only driver to finish his race without issues was Xray driver Oskar Fjeld who actually had his fastest overall qualifier in Q1. Adrian Berntsen held the runner-up spot despite a body tuck during the run.

The dirt track of the RCRT Duisburg in the western part of Germany saw a busy weekend with the 4th round of the western division regionals, the 6th round of the Brushless Cup and the German nationals warm-up all being held at one race. Nearly 70 drivers attended to tackle the hard-packed and abrasive high-traction track. Saturday saw an early free practice followed by the first qualifiers that had Mugen driver Chris Kammann dominating the field with Carsten Keller and Chris Hahlen in tow. The finals were run according the to the national rules with a runtime of 15 minutes. The semifinal B went to Carsten Keller while Chris Kammann successfully ended the semifinal A who also took pole for the 15 minute A-final. Unfortunately Chris had to retire some minutes into the final leg with a broken bearing. This made way for Kyosho’s Carsten Keller who controlled the proceedings and eventually won the race in front of Chris Hahlen (Mugen) and Oeter Schulte-Batenbrock (Mugen).
