Abrahamek takes 200mm class at Laszlo Memory race

The Laszlo Memory race was recently held in Austria with drivers from Slivakia, Hungary, Slovenia and Austria in attendance. In the 200mm class Michal Abrahamek took the TQ after the qualifiers and he then went on to win a super close A-main thanks to a good race strategy. Gergely Csekö came in 2nd while Gergö Lehner rounded out the top 3 result.

Georgiadis wins at GTS Rd5

The fifth round of Greek Touring Series was held at the FRT race track with a good number of entries. Different from other rounds of the GTS this race was held under 17.5T Blinky rules inspired by the Xray Challenge held at the Hudy Arena. The qualifying was very close and after three rounds Georgiadis (Xray) put his car on the 1 spot follow by fellow Xray racer Zogogiannis and Katsikis (HB) in 3rd place. The finals then were again a very close affair with all drivers being in the same lap and at the end Georgiadis was able to keep the momentum to take the overall win from Zogogiannis and Papachristos (Xray).

Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road Championship Rd3 - Report

Round three of the Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road Championship was held at the track of the Model Racing Genk club. During the last heat of the opening qualifier rain started to fall and due to the declaration as a wet race many drivers were forced to run also the second and third round in order to qualify for the finals. In the main final of the Top class it was Gunther Van Staey (Serpent) who was able to pull away right from the start of the race, setting some very fast laps and showing again his good form this year. Gunther was able to dominate the race and he finished 1 lap in front of reigning EC 40+ champion Frank Baggen (ARC) who is currently in a strong position for the title of the Dutch National Champion. Frank was followed by ARC team mate Ad Vissenberg, who confirmed his good result of the Groningen round and who now bumped up to second place in the overall ranking. In the second category of the weekend, the Nomac Cup class, it was local veteran racer Ad Moelands who took the win in the partly wet final. He was followed by Addie Van de Ven and Stephan van Rooijen in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Nico Risser doubles at French Electric Buggy Nats Rd5

The final round of the French Electric Buggy Nationals was held at the chalk track of La Ville Aux Dames near Tours. The race was a challenge for every driver as the French federation selected new hand out tyres only days before the event. In the 4WD class Team C’s Nico Risser took the TQ and the win from Floran Jadot (Team C) and Alex Bauguier (Team Durango). Nico then also went on to TQ and win the 2WD class although he had to defend the position against Ludovic Valtier (Team Associated) who ended the race in 2nd spot. In 3rd Alex Desbrosses (Team C) completed the podium result.

King & Drake win at JBRL Nitro Series Rd4

Round four of this year’s Jimmy Babcock Racing League Nitro Series was hosted by Revelation Raceway with around 180 entries and the usual mixture of World-class drivers and local talent. In the Expert Nitro Buggy class Kyosho’s Cody King came out successful to take a back-to-back win. Team Associated’s Kody Numedahl finished on the runner-up spot while JQRacing’s Jeremy Kortz rounded out the top 3 result.

ROAR 1/8th Electric Offroad & 1/10th SC Nats – Report

The 2015 ROAR 1/10 4×4 SC and 1/8 Electric Offroad Nationals were held this past weekend at Lost Creek R/C Raceway in Oakland Mills, Pennsylvania. This year’s track at LCRC would put every manufacturer’s electronics to the extreme test with a very hi-speed layout and hot/humid temperatures while the event would record its largest entry count in history reaching an impressive 211!. The race schedule saw controlled practice on Thursday, two rounds of qualifying each on Friday and Sunday followed by the main events with triple A-mains on Sunday. In the 1/8 Electric Buggy qualifying Ryan Maifield would TQ two rounds to lock-up the overall TQ. The triple A-Mains for the 1/8 Electric Buggy class would be 10-Minutes each. Maifield was a man on a mission showing tremendous speed in both A-Main 1 and 2 by taking the wins in each to take the overall win and his first ROAR National Championship of the weekend. Dakotah Phend would go onto win A-Main 3 in style to secure 2nd overall.

JConcepts Summer INS – Final results

The qualifying rounds during last weekend’s JConcepts Summer INS has been exciting and intense. Everyone was able to witness the true speed of one of the industry’s brightest stars, Spencer Rivkin, who has masterfully pulled off a perfect Saturday in qualifying winning every round and earning TQ in 4 of the Modified classes. Although, Sunday was a different story. With the last round of qualifying held in the morning, Rivkin’s perfect streak came to an end as his rivals were starting to figure things out on the high traction, full slick conditions. AE/JConcepts’ teammate Michael Schoettler, was able to derail the young Arizona Superstar by taking TQ in 2WD and 4WD in the final round. The momentum was shifting and everyone in the pits could sense the change as “The Rivkin Show” was now becoming a real battle for the title of Summer Indoor National Champion.

Elias Johansson wins at Summer Series Rd3

The third round of he Swedish Summer Series was held at the Årsundaring, a pretty fast track with off camber jumps and a huge wall ride. The event attracted a good turnout of racers and the hot weather made for track temperatures as high as 50 degree Celsius. In the 2WD class Elias Johansson took the TQ after sweeping the qualifiers and he also went on to win all three A-main legs to take the day’s win.
