After under par performances in the second and third round of heats Kyosho’s Jared Tebo bounced back to take his second TQ run of the day with a new outright fastest run in the penultimate qualifier. The American was one of three drivers to record a 13-lap run in the final qualifier of the day topping Team Associated’s Neil Cragg by 7/10th with Ryan Maifield third fastest a further 1.6 seconds adrift.

Ryan Cavalieri headed a 1-2-3 for the factory Associated team as he TQ’d the second qualifer at the Worlds from Ryan Maifield and Neil Cragg as Q1 Top Qualifier Jared Tebo managed only 8th. Topping the round by a healthy 3 seconds, Cavalieri said he managed to save a few moments and overall it was a pretty clean run. With the sun now shining over Vaasa, the American felt the track was the best its been so far and the extra grip made it a lot more fun to drive.

Team Kyosho’s Jared Tebo has TQ’d the opening round of qualifying for the 2WD Electric Buggy World Championships taking Q1 by over a second from the Associated’s of Ryan Cavalieri and Ryan Maifield with the Losi of Dakotah Phend making it an all American Top 4.

Young Japanese ace Naoto Matsukura has ended Day 1 of the 2011 IFMAR Electric Buggy World Championships at the top of the times sheets after producing a blistering lap in the day’s final round of 2WD practice. Quickest in the sixth practice session, only the Team Yokomo driver could better his own time doing so in P8 with a 24.222 second lap which left him 3/10ths clear of Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri who also produced his best time in the closing session of the day.

After the low point that was the 2009 Electric Buggy World Championship in South Africa when teams and drivers boycotted the race on the grounds of safety leaving German driver Martin Achter to beat a handful of drivers to become World Champion, the stage is set here in Finland for one of the greatest World Championships ever. Hosting, with great acclaim, the 2007 1:10 Offroad European Championships, Vaasa Motor Car Club is raising the bar in terms of how the biggest showcase for our sport should be organised.

KM Racing’s Meen Vejrak has won the 1/10 scale GP touring car class at the 4th KM Asia Cup race at the RC Addict race track in Bangkok/Thailand. He won in front of Suruth V. (Xray NT1) and Surikan C. (Xray NT1) with KM Racing driver Charlee P. (KM H-K1) in fourth position. This was the last KM Asia Cup Race this year with the next meeting, the KM World Cup, is being held one month before the 2012 World Championship at the same place. In the meantime KM Racing in association with their worldwide distributors plan to run several KM Cup selection races to send the best KM H-K1 racer of each of the participating countries to the 1st KM World Cup.
