Beat Walti wins Rd1 of Swiss Nats

Our partners RC Infos have a full report on last weekends first round of the Swiss Nationals that was held in Wallisellen. Qualifying saw European ‘B’ finalist Beat Walti, driving the Xray NT1, take the pole position ahead of Mattia Pesenti racing the Team Magic car in 2nd with another Xray, that of Traugott SchÃ¤r lining up in 3rd. In the race Walti was able to ease away to the win while behind the battle for 2nd was fought which saw Pesenti sidelined with a broken 2nd gear on his car early in the race, allowing Dirk Stammler racing for Mugen through to take 2nd and SchÃ¤r ending the race in 3rd.

Pietsch maintains perfect score in South Germany

Last week we reported on the 1/10th scale results from the 3rd round of the South Germany regionals in Rosenheim, which saw Robert Pietsch take the win for Xray. Robert was also in action in the 1/8th scale class at the same event, and the Novarossi team driver, who has won the first 2 rounds, showed once again that he is in top form. After 4 rounds of qualification he placed his Shepherd Velox on pole position, 7 seconds faster than Mugen driver Armin Baier in 2nd with Kyosho team driver Andreas Hammerl in 3rd. The final took place under perfect weather conditions with Robert making the most of the clear track in front of him at the start and could pull out an advantage maintaining his position to the end, winning by 2 laps in front of his uncle Christoph Pietsch while 3rd place went to Andreas Hammerl, 2 laps further back.

Lukas Zeman wins Rd2 of Czech TT Nats

A very brief update on the 2nd round of the Czech Nationals that was run last weekend by the RCACR. The race was won by Falcon powered Xray driver Lukas Zeman with his Xray team mate Petr Klatovsky in 2nd while 3rd place went to Jakub Musil racing for Mugen. Czech National Champion Martin Bayer had a difficult event finishing down the field in 9th.

Lewis & Cavalieri take Reedy Race honours

We reported on Monday that Marc Rheinard had won the Invitational class at this years Reedy Race in California, but the event also played host to a very competitive 19T Spec and Open Modified classe too. In the 19T spec class it was local Tamiya driver Corey Lewis that took the race TQ and in the finals obtained a 3rd in the first final before going on to win the next two finals in convincing fashion, which gave Corey the overall victory ahead of TJ Bradley in 2nd and Juan Aveytia in 3rd.

In the Open Modified class it was Kyle Skidmore that took the top qualifying spot and went on to win the first leg of the A-main only for, non finisher in race 1, Ryan Cavalieri to come through and take the 2nd leg win ahead of Kyle. Ryan brought his quick pace through into the 3rd leg, taking a 2nd position which was enough to take the overall win for the new Team Associated TC5 with Skidmore finishing in 2nd and Rod Canare in 3rd.

Palla Csaba wins Rd2 of Hungarian TT Nats

A quick update on the 2nd round of the Hungarian 1/8th scale buggy Nationals that took place last weekend in Szolnok. The race was won by Ninja powered Mugen racer Pall Csaba while Kyosho racer Orsovai Dezso took 2nd place with the 3rd spot going to Szebelledi Laszlo racing a RB powered Xray XB8EC.

Peter Harder wins Rd3 of Danish TT Nats

Another report from Xray, this time from the 3rd round of the Danish Nationals held at a huge RC stadium just outside Copenhagen. The results from the semi finals saw Kyosho racer Thomas Mikkelsen take the top starting position ahead of Xray racer Peter Harder in 2nd, who when the race started made a bad start allowing Steffen Culmsee to come from behind to take the lead followed by Harder. After the pitstops Peter could regain the lead and, after an accident for Culmsee, could cruise home to the win ahead of Mikkelsen in 2nd with 3rd spot going to CEN racer Rune Gustavsen.

Harris Katikas wins Greek Nats Rd2

Harris Katikas wins Turkish Nats Rd2

Xray have a brief report on their site from the 2nd round of the Greek electric Nationals which was held last weekend on the Patras circuit. Harris Katikas, racing for Xray, completely dominated the World (open) class race by taking the TQ and the overall win ahead of team mates Nikolakopoulos and Agelakopoulos in 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the National class it was a win for Karabelas with 2nd going to Flabouris while Balasis took 3rd.

Marc Rheinard wins 2007 Reedy Race

Last weekend saw the 2007 Reedy Touring Car Race held at Tamiya America’s soon to be closed track in California. Attracting a large amount of top international racers for the Invite class, the event features a qualifying & final race format in which the best six results from 8 rounds count and are used to determine the winner. After all the running it was German racer, and former World Champion, Marc Rheinard that could take the overall win, despite a slow first day that saw him down in 6th position meaning the Tamiya driver had to work hard on the Sunday to claim his second Reedy Race title in a row. British racer Craig Drescher, racing the all new Team Associated TC5, came home in 2nd place just ahead of his team mate Juho Levanen of Finland.
