The annual Turkey Shootout was held at the famous Minnreg Hall in Largo, Florida over Thanksgiving weekend. The event hosts both oval and road course racing, with the road portion of the event doubling as the third round of the long-running Florida State Series. In the Touring 17.5T class AJ Marasco took his car to victory after a close battle with Jeff Flassig. Troy Schafer came in 3rd to round out the podium.
We are very pleased to announce that top US racer JJ Wang has confirmed he will attend the 5th and 6th round of the OneTen Series presented by Infinity in Shanghai on the 4th & 5th of January. Making a return to race at his home track, since moving to California to study the Xray driver has been dominating races on the west coast and so we are looking forward to seeing him back in RCI V2 to go up against the best in the OneTen series, which for this weekend will run alongside the exciting new SGP1 Formula 1 series. The 2019 Turkey Leftovers Potluck and Trophy Race was held at at Apex Raceway in Murfreesboro, Tennessee last weekend. This was a regional on-road event that got racers from neighbouring states to travel to and compete in classes like VTA, USGT, TC, and Euro Truck. Three qualifiers and a main setup was scheduled for the one-day event. In VTA it was Myron Kinnard with the overall TQ and he also brought home the win in the single 8-minute A-main event from privateer Nathan Flores as Jason Graham came in 3rd to round out the podium.
Round 3 of the Schumacher Indoor Off Road Masters at Worksop was held this past weekend. The race was once again a full entry with many great drivers in attendance. When the dust had settled it was Team Associated’s Neil Cragg with the win in 2WD Buggy from Schumacher driver, Ben Smith on the runner-up spot. The top 3 result was completed by Team Associated’s Tommy Hall.

The Pribeta club in Slovakia recently held their club race and it was Stefan Lutka who took a double win in both the 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes. In 2WD, where Stefan started from P2 on the grid, he took the win following some hard fights against 2nd placed Aron Karika as Varga Karoly completed the top 3 results. Over in 4WD Buggy the podium would be completed by Josef Petrik in 2nd and Varga Karoly in 3rd.
The Drumstick race was held at the RC Clubhouse track in Warren, Michigan last weekend. The race saw around 130 entries which is a pretty standard for this race every year. In the 4WD Buggy A-main 2nd place qualifier, Xray’s Mark Sousa made a pass for the lead on lap one but then got together with the 2nd place driver and Mark went back to last on the first lap. However he was able to come through the pack all the way up to 1st and then slowly extended his lead from there to take the win from HB Racing’s Mike Valentine Jr. in 2nd and TLR’s Seth Rippee in 3rd. In the 2WD main it was Charlie Maiorana with the win from Russ Bryant on the runner-up spot. Mark Sousa struggled with a last minute setup change and ultimately had to settle for 3rd overall.

The second round of the Winter Race Morava was held last weekend with more than 90 entries for the classes of Hobby, Formula, Touring Stock, Touring Modified, 1/12th Modified and 1/10 GT Pancar. In Touring Stock, Radko Cernohous took the overall TQ, but Simon Horak managed to get past him in the finals for the overall from Radko Cernohous in 2nd and Karel Kratochvil in 3rd, making it an all-Xray top 3.
The Ohio RC Factory of Jeffersonville, Ohio held their 1/8 Turkey Race last Saturday, attracting over 60 entires. In 1/8th Pro Nitro Buggy it was Xray’s Paul Ciccarello with the overall TQ, however it was 3rd place qualifier, Serpent’s Adam Johnson with the win in the 20-minute A-main event, leaving behind Paul in 2nd some 6.8 seconds back. 4th place qualifier, HB Racing’s Scott Kuchler came in 3rd, a lap behind Paul and Adam.
