Arrowmax Asia Racing Cup finale – Announcement

The final round of the Arrowmax Asia Racing Cup will be held on the 13th and 14th of January 2018 at the Yatabe Arena in Japan. The event will see Touring Modified, Touring Pro Stock and also Formula 21.5T classes and the Pro Stock and Formula classes’ non-sponsored top finishers of the previous rounds will be receiving tickets for the grand finale in Japan.

Nitro-West-Masters Rd4 – Report

Last weekend’s round 4 of the popular Nitro-West-Masters series was also the official warm-up for the German 1/8th Nationals, which will take place at the end of August at Bad Breisig, located between Bonn and Koblenz at the river Rhine. A total of 72 nitro racers made their entry for the race weekend and experienced a great warm-up, also for the hosting club MCC Rhein-Ahr who did a perfect job, especially the outstanding kitchen crew. It all started with an additional practice day on Friday with plenty of track time for more than 20 drivers and continued with an intensive practice day on Saturday with a total of 80 sessions of six minutes each. Differently than forecasted, the weather on Saturday was perfect as well as on Friday and Sunday. As usual in the Nitro-West-Masters, a tight schedule on race day included three 7-minutes heats with the best three consecutive laps counting towards the qualifying results, 15-minutes sub-finals and the 30-minutes main events.

Hufnágl Ice Trophy Summer Series Rd4 – Report

Round 4 of the Hufnágl Ice Trophy Summer Series was held in Otrokovice, Czech Republic in very hot weather conditions. The asphalt temperate would near 65°C and this would cause problems with electronics and also some drivers and in the Modified Touring class it was Matej Sulc with the TQ and win followed by Pavel Martinec and David Mestan.

Ari Bakla wins Pro-Line Challenge Rd1

Re-scheduled due to rain, the opening round of the Australian Pro-Line Challenge was recently held in perfect weather conditions. About 80 entries made for a full day and in the end it was Xray’s Ari Bakla with the win in the Nitro Buggy A-main from Kyosho’s Kev Lewis and TLR driver Ronan Thomson. Darren Prior (Agama) and Scott Jones (TLR) rounded out the top 5 result.

Ginting & Kasengkang win at 2017 Xcampus Challenge

The annual Xcampus Challenge recently took place at the Giant Arena Circuit located in Banjarmasin City, South Borneo, Indonesia. 60 entries for the Touring Modified and Super Stock classes made for competitive racing. In the Touring Modified category it was Bowie Ginting who took the TQ ahead of Christian Mamesah and Suwardi Suliandy after three rounds of qualifying, while in the Super Stock class, Ronald Kasengkang secured the pole ahead Peter Anthonijsz and Donnie Pangemanan.

Adam Drake triples at JBRL Nitro Series Rd5

Round 5 of the 2017 JBRL Nitro Series was held at Thunder Alley R/C Raceway in Beaumont, California with about 170 entries. Mugen’s Adam Drake was the top qualifier for the Expert Nitro Buggy A-main and he would take a tone-to-tone win in the 15-minute long encounter with Anthony Westergaard (Kyosho) and Austin Pannone (Team Associated) coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Huonder & Bühler win at McBest Series Rd8

Round 8 of the Swiss McBest Series was held recently and in the premier 1/8th Nitro On-road class it was Iso Huonder with the win in the main final from Martin Wenger 2nd and Stefan Graber 3rd. Cosimo Sandro Horber and Stefan Kohler would complete the top 5 result.

Austin Woodyard sweeps Tilted Worlds

The Tilted Worlds were held this past weekend and it was Austin Woodyard who made a clean sweep by TQing and winning all three classes he attended. In the Nitro Buggy main Austin would make a couple of mistakes but he would work his way back up to the 1st spot to take the win. The Nitro Truggy main saw Austin taking the win from tone to tone and finally in 1/8th E-Buggy he came out fastest in A1 only to suffer a big crash in A2. Coming back from P8 Austin would end the second main on the runner-up spot which was enough for him to take the overall win and with it his third title of the weekend.
