Dave Crompton wins at UK Winter Series

Pendle in the UK recently held a round of their Winter series and in qualifying Dave Crompton would walk away with the TQ from Ashlee Owen and Mick Butler. Going into finals Ashlee started clean but Dave pulled away. Ashlee continued to push hard as the conditions become more slippery with the falling rain and before the second fuel stop, Dave ran out of fuel, providing Ashlee with an opening to contend for the win. Up until the second to last lap Ashlee managed to hold onto to the lead until traffic caused him some issues in the very late stages, handing Dave the win from Ashlee and Mick, who ran an electric-powered buggy.

Thomas Disselbacher takes double MSIG Wintercup title

The final round of the MSIG Wintercup series was held this past weekend and it saw Thomas Disselbacher (Xray) walking away with a double win in the 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes. Coming from the TQ spots, Thomas would sweep the A-mains to take the win from Fridolin Hager (Xray) and Christian Wukonig (Team Associated) in the 2WD class while Andreas Mayr (Team Associated) and Michael Langgruber (Xray) completed the podium in 4WD. Overall in the championship and with two of the three rounds to count, Thomas would also grab the series’ titles. Fridolin Hager and Christian Wukonig competed the top 3 result in 2WD while Andreas Mayr and Daniel Gumpoltsberger (Xray) rounded out the top 3 in 4WD.

Bowie Ginting wins Indonesian GT Nationals Rd2

Sunter International Speedway played host to round two of the Indonesian 1/8th GT National Championship over the weekend. A cloudy sky and a wet track made for special conditions at first but the track would dry up after the second round of qualifiers and it would stay dry throughout the event. Fayakhun Andriadi would take the overall TQ, about a second in front of Christian Mamesah and Chopin Yusuf who took the front row at the start of the 30-minute main final. On the tone Bowie Ginting jumped into 2nd place, coming from the 8 spot after a disastrous qualifying and Chopin would lead the way until Bowie got past him in lap five. The humid weather made engine setup crucial and several drivers suffered flameouts and in the end Bowie would hold the upper hand, taking the win from Christian and Rusman.

Nico Risser wins 4WD class at Euro Indoor Race

The 2017 edition of the Euro Indoor Race was held in Belgium this past weekend. In the 4WD Buggy class Xray’s Nico Risser took the TQ and he would also come out on top after the triple A-mains that were a pretty entertaining affair with three different winners. Ultimately Nico would bring home the win in front of Xray team mate, Eric Michiels and Team C’s Tom Maquel.

Haug & Ressar win at Estonian Onroad Series Rd5

Round five of the Estonian Onroad Racing Series was held at Saue HOBIzone. In the 17.5T Touring class it was a smooth sailing for Risto Haug who made pretty much a clean sweep to take the day’s win from Henri Nurmela in second and Marko Roolaid in third.

Harper & Spashett win British LMP Nationals Rd5

Last weekend saw round 5 of the BRCA LMP12 national series take place at the Swifts Raceway in the north of England. This round of the series saw Schumacher strengthen their team with touring car racer Elliott Harper and buggy driver and GT12 World Champion, Michal Orlowski. Taking on the very strong Schumacher team would be the Roche team of David Spashett, Adam Catchpole and Ollie Payne, and Yokomo’s lone factory representative, Mark Stiles. Over the two days there were three classes, with all drivers competing in 13.5 fixed timing class on Saturday, and drivers split between 6.5 fixed timing Modified on Saturday, and 13.5 Sports Modified on Sunday. On Saturday the tight and twisty track saw incredibly close racing across the field. In the end it came down to a last round battle for pole position between Harper, Catchpole, Spashett and Orlowski. A clean run from Elliott Harper saw his Eclipse line up on pole by less than a tenth of a second from David Spashett’s Roche.

Xray Racing Series UK Rd6 – Report

This past weekend was the penultimate round 6 of the CWIC Xray Racing Series UK. In Super Touring Olly Jefferies further cemented his dominance on the class with another back-to-back finals win. Jon Seals followed Olly at the finish line claiming second and building further on his 4th place last round, BGR’s Tom Green took the 3rd sport on the podium.

Michele Manzo TQs & wins at Swiss Indoor Masters

Last weekend’s Swiss RC Indoor Masters in Chiaso, Switzerland not only saw the running of a 21.5T Formula class but also Touring and Pan Car categories. In Touring Modified Michele Manzo TQ’d the opening two qualifiers to grab the overall TQ from Florian Hauser in second and Fabian Widmer in third. The opening A-main was a pretty close affair with Michele and Florian being separated by only about 0.4s on the line while in A2 Michele suffered from a DNF which made things interesting for A3. The final A-main then again had Michele and Florian battling for the win with the better end for Michele who would take the leg win with a one second margin over Florian. Overall Michele would take the day’s win from Florian with Oliver Krähemann in third.
