Nugroho wins final Indonesian National & takes title

The fifth and final round of the Indonesian National Buggy Championships was held at Willson track, Denpasar, Bali last Sunday. A total of 66 drivers attended this event from Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Jogjakarta, Medan, Batam, Palembang, Kendari, Balikpapan and Bali. The race format originally was to be 6 rounds of 10 minutes with 4 best rounds to count but there was heavy rain during the 3rd qualifier, so the race director took 3 best of 5 rounds. Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) took TQ honours and he converted that into the win, followed by Adrian Sutanto (TLR/Reds) in second and Stanley Wangasanegara (Mugen/OS) third.

Sergi Franch wins Spanish 'RC World' Cup

The annual RC World Cup race, hosted by Johnny Pastor shop (RC World), was held at the Almussafes track in Valencia, Spain. This race is famous for the attendance of the best national drivers, as well as the amount of prizes given away in the draw at the end of the race. After Saturday night rain, the track was very tricky in qualifying, where in 1/10th scale Sergi Franch came out fastest topping 2 of the 3 rounds in front of Victor Pelaez, qualifying both drivers directly into the main final.

Jack Embling wins at Irish Astro Cup

The Irish Astro Cup was held at the Navan circuit, Ireland in sunny yet slightly cold weather. The race format was three rounds of practice on Saturday followed by three qualifiers and another two qualifiers on Sunday with bump-up finals and an EP final concluding the day. Jack Embling TQ’d the 1st round with local hero and top Irish driver Bradley Baird 2nd. The next round Brad would use his local knowledge to good use and TQ so it was all even. Brad TQ’d again in the 3rd round so he would be last in the reversed grid for the Dash for Cash.

Takumi Matsuda wins at PGTC GP Series finale

The final round of the Japanese PGTC GP Series saw Serpent driver Takumi Matsuda walking away with the win in the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring class. Takumi set the pace right from the start and he would end the A-main one lap in front of Shoki Takahata (KM) in second and Shinnosuke Yukoyama (Mugen) in third.

Cody King takes JBRL Nitro Series Expert Buggy title

The final round of the JBRL Nitro Series was held at the Pro-Line test track last weekend and the event saw former IFMAR World Champion, Cody King walking away with the overall title in the Expert Buggy class. Jeremy Kortz came in second overall with Shaun Kirkman rounding out the podium result in third.

Arrowmax sign World Champion David Ronnefalk

Arrowmax have announced the signing of Sweden’s David Ronnefalk to their team. The 2016 IFMAR 1/8th Nitro Buggy World Champion will be using the company’s range of tools and accessories and he joins an already high-class team of drivers such as Ronald Völker, Shin Adachi or Jörn Neumann. The HB Racing factory driver has the following to say about the deal:

I’m very happy to say that I will from now on be using tools and other accessories that Arrowmax has to offer. Andreas Thrasyvoulou wins LRCC Championship Rd3

The third round of the LRCC Championshipn was held at the AG Metal Off-Road Track in Limassol, Cyprus in excellent weather conditions and on a re-built track. Xray driver Andreas Thrasyvoulou would take the TQ after the qualifiers and he also came out on top of the proceedings after the main final to take the day’s win from the Agama duo of Simos Tikkis and Sotiris Taifas.

Picado wins 200mm class at Panama GP race

The Panama GP race was recently held in Costa Rica. The Cup was started last year to create a series held in the two neighbouring countries of Costa Rica and Panama and this time the drivers travelled to Costa Rica. In the 200mm class it was Picado who took the win in the A-main from Lazaro Milan in second and Roque Pinilla in third.
