Pietsch Euros Top Qualifier with new Mugen

Mugen designer Robert Pietsch gave his latest creation the MTX-5 its first accolade by securing Top Qualifier honours at the 200mm European Championships in Ettlingen, Germany.  Top Qualifier at the World Championships using the MTX-5’s predecessor, the German ace claimed his first Euros TQ with his time from yesterday’s second round of qualifying as no one could take advantage of the dry Q4 conditions to better his time.

Sandro Martines wins Brazilian St. André Champs Rd5

Sandro Martines has won the 5th round of St. André Championship in Brazil. Starting in the middle of grid and struggling with a rich setting of his engine during the first minutes of the race, the first pit stop and engine re-tune brought a change as KM H-K1 driver Sandro took the lead and won the 30 minutes final one lap ahead of Leandro Fares (Capricorn) and team mate Anderson Becheli (KM H-K1) who was leading the race until he ran out of fuel, ending his chances of winning and missing the second place by a few seconds. Paulo Cesar (KM H-K1) finished 4th.

Mugen’s Robert Pietsch is the overnight Top Qualifier for the 8th running of the 200mm European Championships after the German ace bettered Patrick Schäfer’s Q1 topping time by over 5-seconds in the second round of qualifying this evening in Germany.

Team Shepherd’s Patrick Schäfer has topped the opening round of qualifying at the 200mm European Championships in Ettlingen, Germany outpacing World Championship Top Qualifier Robert Pietsch by 11/1000ths of a second with former back to back champion Dario Balestri third fastest.

Wischnewski tops first controlled practice

Continuing his free practice pace Dirk Wischnewski has topped the first round of controlled practice this morning at the 200mm European Championships in Ettlingen, Germany.  The Xray driver set the pace over 7-minutes from Mugen’s Robert Pietsch with Italian teenager Biagio Spataro 3rd.

European 200mm title up for grabs in Ettlingen

In the build up to all major championships the person to beat is the defending champion but at this year’s 1:10 Nitro Touring European Championships this is not the case with last year’s title winner Martin Christensen missing from the 121 car field here in Ettlingen, Germany.  The eighth running of the EFRA event, three of the five 200mm Euro champions are present with Team Xray’s Dirk Wischnewski, the man who lost his title to Christensen in Sweden 12-months ago, and fellow German Robert Pietsch the men everyone else is trying to match as the third day of free practice is completed.

Silvio Hächler wins Swiss 1/8th Rd5

The 5th round of the 2011 1/8 scale nitro on-road Swiss championship was held at the fast and wonderful track in Sitterdorf. During qualifying Marco Müller could take TQ with running only one qualifier, Simon Kurzbuch and Luca Martinelli followed close to him. On Sunday, Simon Kurzbuch could win his semi without any problems, but Marco Müller had some smaller rear tyre issues, letting Silvio Hächler take pole position for the main final.

Hang wins @ 2011 JMRCA Kanto Championship

KM got in touch to tell us about their recent success at the 2011 JMRCA Kanto Middle Japan championship. Yuichi Adachi (KM H-K1) took TQ on the KeiTune racing track, the host of the upcoming JMRCA All Japan National Championship. In the final Yuichi could not take an advantage of the pole position as he ran into engine trouble that forced him to retire making way for KM team mate Hung Cheung Hang (KM H-K1) who on two laps ahead of Hidekazu Takaishi (Kyosho R4) and Ryuji Noguchi (Mugen MTX4).
