In the race the positions of the top 3 never changed and Lars could take the win from Depta in 2nd and Skomia 3rd.

Ryan Cavalieri wins JBRL Truggy Rd7

Held at one of the most popular club racing facilities in the nation, Revelation Raceway hosted the 7th round of the JBRL Nitro Offroad series. Just shy of the TQ, Ryan Cavalieri started 2nd in the main event behind Kyosho’s Ryan Lutz. It was clear at the beginning of the race that it would come down to these two drivers as they steadily pulled away from the rest of the field. Lutz set a quick first few laps and opened up 3-4 seconds on Cavalieri but as the laps wore down, Cavalieri began to eat in to the lead and with 6 minutes down was less than 2 seconds behind the full-punched Lutz. Just last week at the R/C Pro West Round #3, also held at Rev Raceway, Lutz and Cavalieri battled it out in Truggy with Lutz taking the victory.  This time the tides would turn. An unfortunate engine breakage forced Lutz out of the race just before his first pit stop and this gave Cavalieri a 10 second cushion over Cody King and with such a large lead, Ryan’s pit guy chose to make two pit stops in the 15 minute final. As the time wore down, King stayed within 10 seconds of the lead and as Cavalieri came in for a quick splash and go at the 13 minute mark Cavalieri retained the lead and held off King for the win, with Adam Drake taking 3rd.

Tosolini wins US Fuel Sedan Nationals

Chris Tosolini has won the 2008 ROAR Fuel Sedan Nationals which took place at the Fort Myers track in Florida over the weekend.  With defending Champion Barry Baker, who won the title in ’07 with Xray, abscent this year following his departure from Team Magic, it was all to play for.  Once again it was the super fast Paul Lemeiux, who came so close to winning the Worlds earlier this year, that took the TQ honours with his Xray NT1.  Next to him on the grid was Serpent’s Paolo Morganti but in the one hour final the leading qualifiers would hit trouble allowing Tosolini’s Sirio powered Kyosho to take the win and regain the title he won in 2006 when he debuted Serpent’s new 720.  Second spot went to Josh Cyrul while Bobby Flack completed the podium.

Wood is British 1/8th Champion

Tim Wood (pictured on podium at Round 7) is the new British National 1:8 Champion after atrocious weather conditions at the weekend caused the cancellation of the ninth and final round of the BRCA championship at the Adur track which is situated on the south coast of England.  The Team Serpent UK driver, who won three rounds this year, only had one challenger to the title in team-mate Mark Green who had two to his credit but the weather meant they didn’t get to go head to head for the title.  This is Green’s, a member of the Serpent factory team, second National defeat by a younger driver as last month he lost out on the 1:10 200mm title to emerging young talent Kyle Branson.

Gianni Giorgio wins Venezuela Nats Rd4

The fourth round of the Venezuelan 1:10 200mm Nationals took place over the weekend where Serpent driver Gianni Giorgio was declared the winner.  Driving his Max Power engined 720, Giorgio broke the track record in qualifying with a time of 17.048 and also set a new record for most laps completed over 5 minutes – a run that would secure him the TQ honours. Unfortunately bad weather forced the finals to be abandoned and so the result was declared on the heats. With this victory Giorgio takes the lead of the championship with two rounds remaining.

Carlos Durães wins Portuguese Cup

The Portuguese Cup 2008, took place last weekend at Vila Real where track conditions were hard and bumpy which resulted in a lot of dust. Miguel Matías took TQ honours with his Kyosho followed by Merlin Team driver Carlos Durães and Ricardo Monteiro. Clearly faster than their rivals in the heats, Miguel Matías and Carlos Durães were a step above the rest of the field and were clear favorites to battle for victory in the final. Unfortunately for Matías his car broke in the warm-up for the final. Although he fixed it he had lost too much time ending any chances of victory. This allowed Durães to dominate the Final with his BOSS engined Hobao while behind him Rodrigo Luis, Ricardo Monteiro, Gabriel Magalhães and Fernando Almeida battled it out for the other podium placings. Midway into the race Magalhães and Almeida both retired with broken cars as did TQ man Matías, his car breaking again. In the end Luis, who was making his debut as a Merlin Team driver, took second place behind Durães with Ricardo Monteiro claiming the final step on the podium.
