Kyle McBride as taken his third straight win at the Meakin Masters, held at the Brickyard, Logan Off Road’s track in South East Queensland, Australia.  The event took place last weekend and after 6 rounds of qualifying, Kyle took the TQ with his DNX408, setting an extremely fast pace. At the start of the A-main Kyle battled hard with the 2nd place qualifier for the first 5 minutes and then made a break to take a comfortable lead, after the first fuel stop Kyle was in a very strong position and continued to push hard – eventually lapping the whole field by the 25 minute mark. By the time the 30-minute final was over Kyle had built up a fantastic lead to give his DNX408 another great win. This is Kyles third straight win in the annual Meakin Masters race with victories in 2009, 2010 & now in 2011 piloting the Team Durango DNX408.

Waters heads Durango 1-2-3 at Worksop Rd4

Waters heads Durango 1-2-3 at Worksop Rd4

Team Durango drivers shut the door on the competition at the 4th round of the hugely popular Worksop Indoor Masters series, with the DEX410 taking the top three positions in 4WD. 140+ drivers attended the 4th round of the Indoor Masters series at Worksop. In 4wd Danny McGee would take TQ in what was a close run qualifying with only he able to take two rounds. Craig Collinson and Nathan Waters took a round each to claim second and third on the grid respectively, whilst Adam Skelding took two seconds to grid up in 4th. Right from the off in the final the front four pulled away from the rest of the field and it was soon apparent that the winner would come from these four, but who? With only a second covering the front 4 until about half race distance when a couple of errors crept in from Danny and Craig promoted Nathan and Adam up to first and second respectively. Danny and Craig were still not done though and put pressure on the front two, but another couple of errors soon left a gap to the front. Nathan began to pull away from Adam and extend his lead whilst Adam seemed to have 2nd covered, but a couple of errors whilst trying to make sure of 2nd soon had Craig on his back door leaving a very nervy race to the line.

An amazing 2 weeks of action in Ohio ends with Ryan Maifield and JConcepts on top in the 1/8th buggy pro class taking the first big win in 2011.  Ryan was a thrilling driver all weekend in the buggy class by first taking the TQ and then going on to win the 45-minute A-final against some the world’s finest drivers including Jesse Robbers, reigning IFMAR World Champion Cody King and Billy Easton. JConcepts Hybrids in green compound along with the Punisher body made the punishing easier as Ryan and his Associated RC8B made quick work of the fast, technical CRCRC layout with the fastest overall time during qualifying. In the 1/8th truck class, Ryan had to settle for 2nd place, 3.8 seconds behind eventual winner Jessie Robbers who drove a fantastic race. Pit strategy and traffic became a factor as Ryan battled hard for the entire 45 minutes with his RC8T-CE truck equipped with Punisher body and JConcepts Sevens tires.
