Ty Tessmann sweeps U.S. Open Fuel Championship

Sun City Raceway of Canutillo, Texas held the U.S. Open Fuel Championship this past weekend, attracting nearly 115 entries. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Xray’s Ty Tessmann with the overall TQ and he would also take a tone to tone win in the 45-minute A-main event, leaving behind 4th place qualifier, Tekno RC’s Jared Tebo in 2nd despite the latter being able to hang with Ty in the opening stages of the race. HB Racing’s Spencer Heckert would complete the top 3 result a lap behind Jared while TLR’s Tanner Denney and Team Associated’s Chris Boice completed the top 5 results.

Jade Lim takes 2019 MNL Championship title

The fifth and final round of the Malaysia National League was held this past weekend, attracting 45 drivers to compete at the Precint 6 Putrajaya track. In the Pro Nitro Buggy class Serpent’s Mizan would take the overall TQ, however after the hour-long A-main event it was young Team Associated driver, Jade Lim with the win an ultra narrow 0.2 seconds in front of 14th place qualifier, JQRacing’s Adam Fikri. Danny K had to settle for 3rd overall, some two laps down as Mizan (Serpent) and Alfie Othman (SWorkz) came in 4th and 5th respectively.

Dani Choi doubles at KMRCA 1/8th Off-road Champs

The 2019 KMRCA 1/8th Off-road Championship was held at the I-Cheon track in South Korea this past weekend. In the Nitro Pro class it was Kyosho’s Dani Choi with the overall TQ thanks to a clean sweep in the triple qualifiers and he would also bring home the win in the 45-minute A-main event, held in chilling temperatures. A lap behind Dani it was HB Racing’s Hanyoung Jeon on the runner-up spot while another lap down, Kyosho’s Yeonho Kim would complete the top 3 result.

Xray Racing Series Germany Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Xray Racing Series Germany was held at the MAC Adenau club recently. Located near the legendary Nürburgring the track would host the event for the sixth time with the weekend having kicked off on Saturday. Sunday morning saw the so-called “Sunday drivers” practice for those joining the meeting only on race day, to make up for the alleged backlog of practice. After the drivers’ briefing, race director and timekeeper Uwe Baldes sent the participants into the three heats, with the best run to be counted by lap and time. The drivers were divided into the classes Touring Car FWD 17.5T, Touring Car Stock 13.5T and 1/12 GT 17.5T. In the Touring Car Stock class, the positions were hotly contested. With 27 laps in 5:02,042, the pole position went to Xray driver Joerg Baldes in front of his brand teammates Marc Stuebben and Tobias Hoefflin.

JConcepts NCTS champions crowned – Report

The inaugural season of the JConcepts National Carpet and Turf Series concluded last weekend with the final round being held at Thunder Road RC Raceway in Waite Park, Minnesota. After the event also the overall series champions would be crowned and round 4 saw the overall up for grabs between two very, very fast individuals as everything was on the line for Ryan Cavalieri and Broc Champlin. By winning 2WD Modified at Thunder Road over the weekend, Broc Champlin secures the 1st ever NCTS 2WD Modified Series Championship in thrilling fashion. Ryan Cavalieri finished 2nd overall with Ryan Reavis your 3rd place finisher on points.

2019 Arrowmax Cup Rd3 – Report

The third round of the 2019 Arrowmax Cup was held at the ACO track in Hong Kong recently. In the Touring Modified class the battle for the overall would continue in A3, as three of the drivers still had the chance to take the overall victory. With TQ Topman yet to score a win, it was an important race. Due to the time of the day, the third A-main would have the most grip since “Happy hour” is just right on the dot. TQ Topman took advantage and would hold his line while Kendrik did what he could to pass Simon. With one small mistake of the latter, Kendrik made a move in the S turn while Simon would quickly recover and was within striking distance, but in the end, Simon wasn’t able to regain the position so it was Topman with the overall win from Kendrik 2nd and Simon 3rd.

Daniel Bubel wins at Fear Farm 2.0 race

The Fear Farm 2.0 race was held at the Nuno Arena in Denmark last weekend, attracting local drivers as well as guest from Germany and Norway. Considered to be the biggest race 1/8th off-road race on Danish soil for the 2019 season, the event was held in Nitro and Electric classes and in E-Buggy it was Xray’s Daniel Bubel with a clean sweep in the qualifiers to take the pole position for the A-mains. The opening two A-final legs then saw Daniel taking the wins for the overall in front of JQRacing’s Mikkel Vesterled and Xray’s Vincent Ruger.

Jerome Sartel teams up with SWorkz

SWorkz have announced the addition of French 1/8th off-road frontrunner, Jerome Sartel to their team. The long-time TLR racer joins SWorkz both as driver and also as European team manager and he will campaign SWorkz machinery along TPro tyres at national and international events. Jerome says:

Their quality products, great racing spirit, in addition to their motivation to bring satisfaction to customers makes me think it was the right choice.
