Yoshii double at Northwest Stock Championships

The 2nd Annual Northwest Stock Championships were held this past weekend at PDX RC Underground in Portland, Oregon. This is the home track of our Muchmore USA Team Manager Joe Pillars, who also helped put on this event for the second straight year with track owner Kevin Focht. After nearly doubling the total race entries from just one year ago, the stage was set for a great day of racing. In the Pro 17.5 2wd Stock Buggy class, Pillars took the TQ’s in Rounds #1 & 2 with his Muchmore powered Yokomo while team mate Harley Yoshii then went onto reset the overall TQ in Round to start on the pole for the triple A-Mains.

XRS Challenge Offroad Germany – Report

This past Weekend the Final Round of the HK Cup, this time combined with a XRS Challenge, took place in Hurtgenwald in the West of Germany. With over 60 entries the day started early at 8.30 with 3 rounds of qualifications followed by 3 finals. Xray´s Jens Becker TQ’d the 2WD Modified class and also took the overall win followed by Yannik Holzknecht and Nikolas Schmitz.

Louth RCCC Schumacher Winter Series Rd6 – Report

Round six and the final round of the Schumacher Winter Series presented by the Louth Radio Control Car Club took place this past weekend. A strong entry of drivers would attend this meeting, drivers taking to the technical layout that the club had laid out, running the four classes of 13.5 Blinky, 17.5 boosted, GT12 and Tamiya Euro Truck. In 13.5 Blinky the qualifying would be very close for the top spot. Ricky Lee would continue his fine form at Louth by taking the top spot with his Awesomatix and with his TQ would secure his championship. Nathan Winyard would lead the Xray charge followed by Chris Lovely and Andrew Green. Kyle would show well in front of Daniel Burks, the Capricorn of Mikey Mansell and 17.5 champion Jason Lovely would make up the A final.

Nugroho wins the 2019 Batam Challenge

The 2019 Batam Challenge was held this past weekend at Banana RC Track in Batam island, Indonesia. Batam island is located about 60 minutes by ferry from Singapore and the race attracted drivers from Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Jakarta, Medan, Banjarmasin, Padang, Pontianak as well as local drivers arrived. The race format consisted of 5 rounds of 10 minutes qualifications with the 3 best to count. After 5 qualification rounds Xray driver Jason Mugroho took the TQ honours and started from the pole position in the main final. With a good start Nugroho could maintain his lead during the 60 minute race and win from Adrian Wicaksono and John Agus.

Sydor, Anderson & Young win at ROAR Carpet Nationals

This year’s ROAR Carpet Nationals were held at ProLevel RC in Chesterfield, Missouri last weekend. There were five touring car classes ranging from Modified to 25.5 VTA and Awesomatix drivers were at the top of all classes throughout the event. Seating rounds occurred on Thursday. 21.5 Touring Car would have Awesomatix lock out the top 5 spots with Michael Toth taking 1st, Brent Klingforth 2nd and Dustin Layne 3rd. USGT would see Awesomatix lock out the top 6 spots with Kemp Anderson 1st, Clayton Young 2nd, and Chris Kemper 3rd. Last, but not least, VTA would see Clayton Young (Awesomatix) taking the top spot with David Panter (Xray) 2nd and Myron Kinnard (Team Associated) 3rd.

Jason Nugroho wins 2019 Batam Challenge

The 2019 Batam Challenge was held at the Banana RC Track in Batam City, Indonesia last weekend. A total of 35 drivers from Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Jakarta, Medan, Banjarmasin, Padang, Pontianak as well as local drivers attended the event that saw five rounds of 10-minutes qualifying with the three best to count. In the end it was Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) ho took the TQ honours and he also secured the win in the 60-minute main final, some five laps in front of Adrian Wicaksono (Mugen/O.S.) on the runner-up spot and John Agus (Kyosho/O.S.) in 3rd. Andre Supriyatna (Mugen/O.S.) and Rama Danindro (HB Racing/Novarossi) would round out the top 5 results.

Elias Johansson wins at Swedish Cup Rd1

Last weekend the Swedish Cup series kicked off its new season. The event was hosted by the Karlskrona MRK club and held at their indoor facility in Kallinge. In 4WD Buggy qualifying it was evident that several drivers were really quick, but in the end it was Elias Johansson who came out on top with David Ronnefalk lining up 2nd and Alexander Landen 3rd. In the opening A-main Alexander stayed with the front pack for the first two laps, but then went just a bit tight on a track marker and got slightly stuck, and had to let Wilhelm Skjöldebrand by. They had a really good battle together for a few laps before a small mistake where Wilhelm left the door slightly open after the straight, gave Alexander the possibility to re-take 3rd position.

John Wiita TQs & wins at ROAR Carpet Nationals

ProLevel RC of Chesterfield, Missouri held the 2019 ROAR Electric On-road Carpet Nationals last weekend. In the competitive 1/12th 17.5 class John Wiita took the overall TQ after the qualifiers with Kevin Van Ert in a close 2nd. The opening A-main then saw Kemp Anderson with the win, however coming out on top of the pack in A2 and A3 secured John the overall title as Kevin van Ert came in 2nd with 4-2-2 finished. Jeff Dayger, coming from the 4 spot on the grid, would obtain the final podium spot for an all-CRC top 3.
