Israeli Nitro Buggy Championship Rd8 – Report

The 1/8th Nitro Buggy season in Israel has come to an end with the recent round 8 of the championship. Held at the Negev Speed Racing track it was a super hot affair with temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees Celsius. After the four qualifying rounds Yaniv Sivan took the TQ honours and he also got the hole shot at the start of the A-main. Yaniv was closely followed by Aviv Maymon in 2nd and when Sivan made a small mistake it promoted Maymon into the lead. What followed was a forth and back for several times until Aviv suffered a flameout which cost him a position that was taken by Or Balulu who in turn also suffered engine issues. This promoted Tal Siles to 2nd and Dvir Hirak to 3rd. From there the top 3 positions remains the same until the checkered flag. As Ofir Avitan had checked out in the championship the race for the runner-up spot was on between Tal Siles and Yaniv Sivan. North German IC Track Champs finale – Report

The final round of the North German IC Track Championship took place at the MC Munster track located between Hamburg and Hanover. After the qualification Lars Hoppe took the TQ spot in the 1/8th class while Rico Kröber dominated the 1/10th 200mm qualification at will. The final of the 1/8th class was a thrilling one. At the start Timo Schröder could pass Lars but after a small mistake Lars took over the lead again, but Timo did not give up and kept up the pressure. After two quick refuelling stops Lars was able to pull away a good four seconds but after an accident with a back marker, Lars had to slow down which unfortunately caused his engine to stop. Timo, who made a tyre change, was right back on the heels of Lars and each of the spectators was waiting for the showdown of the two. Unfortunately, another engine stall from Lars saw Timo Schröder winning the race some two laps ahead of Lars in 2nd and Benny Ciere in 3rd position. With the win Timo also took his maiden North German Championship title.

Belgian Electric On-road Nationals Rd4 – Report

The MAC de Baanbrekers club played host to the fourth round of the Belgian Electric On-road Nationals over the weekend. With the Benelux+ race held a week ago on the same track, every driver was focused and keen to get a good result. The biggest uncertainty would however prove to be the weather. On Sunday morning, everyone was checking the weather apps as heavy showers were expected to appear around 15 p.m. Qualifying got underway on a dry track, but the strong winds made the track very tricky to drive. In the premier Touring Modified class, everyone expected Olivier Bultynck (Awesomatix) to dominate the event. His usually strongest opponent, young Dutch driver Mitchell Van Es (Awesomatix), couldn’t quite get the perfect setup for the changing track conditions and had to settle for P2 in the first qualifier, some eight seconds behind Olivier. Florian Joos (Xray) took a provisional 3rd place. Young Athan De Witte (Yokomo) had been very strong in the practice sessions, but had to retire his car with a diff issue.
