Patrik Pozgaj wins at Croatian Championship Rd2

Round two of the Croatian Championship was held at the Krapina track with drivers from Slovenia and Croatia in attendance. Very warm weather made things a bit unpleasant at times but overall it was a nice racing day. In the Touring Stock 13.5T class Patrik Pozgaj would grab round TQs in Q1 and Q2, handing him the overall TQ and the pole position for the triple A-mains. To save tyres Patrik then opted to sit out the third and final qualifier. In the opening A-main, Patrik was chased by Zeljko Selman with whom he raced nose to tail for about two minutes until Zeljko made a mistake, allowing Patrik some room to breathe and to cruise to the win. A2 then saw a hard pushing Patrik who was able to open a gap of about 5 seconds to the second placed driver and from there he again was able to take it easy and to bring home the day’s win.

Tom repeated the feat in 4WD this weekend at the new Coventry Model Car Club track with his Cat K2, winning all qualifiers and three legs of the final. Tom said “it’s great to continue my run of regional series wins with Schumacher, back in 2002 I won my first 2WD regional championship with a Schumacher Fireblade so it’s nice to win once more in my 2nd spell with the team. The cars have been dialled on all tracks so far, this weekend my 4WD was unbelievable on the new Coventry track! A big thanks to my Dad and Trish for their support, and of course Schumacher and their range of fantastic brands.”
