Marc Fischer wins at Longwy Winter Series

Marc Fischer wins at Longwy Winter Series

The recent second round of the MRCL Longwy Winter Series saw Marc Fischer laying down a dominant performance in the Touring Modified class. Being the only driver to score a sub-12 seconds lap during Saturday’s practice Marc would grab the overall TQ after the qualifiers. The opening A-main then saw Marc taking a relatively easy win but the German had scored a DNF in A2 due to a broken tyre. In the decisive third A-main the Serpent driver again was able to open a gap on the field and he went on to win the leg with the only 26 laps run of the weekend. Loic Jasmin (Yokomo) finished the day on the runner-up spot while Julian Borowski (Serpent) rounded out the top 3 result.

The Protoform Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series was held for the first time ever in the beautiful mountainside wine country of Kelowna, British Columbia. Round 4 was hosted by the KRC Club, with great teamwork and support from all the B.C. clubs for their premier WCICS event. Great weather helped racers from all around Western Canada make the drive, and in their first event ever they had the second highest registrations of any race so far in WCICS 25th season. In the Touring Modified class Xray driver Blake Bell drove his T4 from pole to checkered without looking back-for almost the 9th time in a row, three full events. Awesomatix’ Korgae Scales, driving the new A800 belt car, was in his draft the entire race, just 1 second behind at the line. WCICS President, top privateer Josh Carter, drove his Xray T3 to a solid 3rd.

Rug Racers Rd2 – Report

Rug Racers Rd2 – Report

Round two of the Rug Racers series welcomed all drivers with a familiar track and somewhat unfamiliar sound, between the last round the organisers had listened to driver feedback and based on this feedback re-invested the money straight back into a new sound system amongst other more subtle changes including allocated pitting being trialled and a larger rostrum. Controlled practice got underway just after 8 for 11 heats of 4 classes. After a re-sort for those that didn’t show this was reduced to 10 heats. In Open Modified Elliott Harper was clearly then man to beat taking 3 of 4 rounds but with Kyle Branson close behind and Elliot unable to finish round 4 Kyle would take pole position.
