2nd Annual SWorkz Challenge – Announcement

AMain.com’s world-famous Silver Dollar R/C Raceway will host the Second Annual SWorkz Challenge presented by JConcepts on May 29th to 31st. The race will also serve as the ROAR Nationals Warm-Up Race so you can expect to see the nation’s top nitro off-road racers as they prepare and test for the coveted nationals. The race will see Pro, Open, Electric and 40+ 1/8th scale classes with the Open class racers won’t want to miss the SWorkz Challenge sponsorship opportunity as there will be a sponsorship deal with SWorkz, JConcepts, ProTek R/C and Airtronic. Combined with a best trick contest, TQ’s “$100 Dash For Cash” for all class TQs and Chico’s finest food trucks serving tasty grub, the SWorkz Challenge is sure to be a huge event in late May. French Picco distributor Racing Experience announce the signing of Nacho Lopez to their team. The Spaniard will use the Italian engines during his 1/8th and 1/10th scale campaign and he had the following to say:

I’m so happy to reach this agreement with Racing Experience and Picco. After a not so good 2014 season I felt there was time for a change and after Racing Experience became Picco distributor for Spain, this opportunity came a long that I could not pass on. After testing in two races new .12 Picco EMX WC platform, I’m delighted with the performance of this new engine. I think the best that I’ve ever have! I am really looking forward to my first 1/8 nitro race next weekend with the first Spanish Nats to test new Picco .21 EMX engines! I’m sure that with this  partnership we will achieve really good results together over the coming years.

Euro Contest 2015 – Announcement

Bittydesign officially announce the 2015 Euro Contest, held at the Barco-Off racetrack in Italy from June 5th to 7th. Situated around an hour’s drive from the Bologna airport the track offers a unique “US style” layout that will receive some big changes for the 2015 race. Entries for the 3-day event are limited to 192 drivers with Friday seeing free practice, qualifying on Saturday and the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) followed by the Superpole and Finals on Sunday. The race is held in Nitro Pro and Open Buggy classes as well as an 1/8th E-Buggy category. More information and registration is available here.

The Fanatix racing track in Greece recently held the opening round of the Greek Touring Series and the 2nd round of the Greek Nitro Series. The day started with the electric class and after the qualifiers Papachristos took the TQ from Mitropoulos and Konstadopoulos.

David Perez re-signs with Xray

PerezXDavid Perez re-signs with Xrayray

Xray have announced the re-signing with young and talented David Perez. The multiple Spanish national champion will continue to be part of the Xray team in 2015 and he will focus on electric touring racing. David will compete at the ETS, the EFRA Euros, the Spanish and Canary national championship and he had the following to say:

I have been racing with Xray cars as a private driver for several years and thanks to the best performance of the T4 and the support I got I was able to win plenty of races including several national titles. To be part of the Xray team is a great honor for me and my motivation to continue to improve my skills and result is the highest ever. I will participate at as many international races as possible to learn more from the factory team including Martin, Alex, Bruno and all the great people in the team but at the same time I will continue to race all the national series in Spain so anyone looking for a good set-up or help please do not hesitate to contact me.

Bruno Coelho wins at Portuguese Indoor Series

Brubo Coelho wins at Portuguese Indoor Series

The final round of the Portuguese Indoor Series was held in Barreiro last weekend. Bruno Coelho dominated the qualifying and finals, taking a strong TQ position and finishing all three A-mains more than 3 laps ahead of the runner-up spot. Behind Bruno Goncalo Alves came in 2nd and while Joao Martinho rounded out the top 3 result.

Sebastian Johansson wins at Mini-Prix 2015

The Minicars indoor track in Sweden recently hosted the Mini-Prix 2015 for 1/10th Formula cars. It was the first race in a very long time in the central parts of Sweden so most drivers had never attended a Formula race before nor had very much practice. Running the race very similar to the ETS Formula class rules made for some tight and interesting racing both for the drivers and the spectators trackside. In the A-main Sebastian Johansson came out successful in front of fellow Xray racers Mattias Trotte and Alex Hofvander.
