While TLR’s Adam Drake and Kyosho’s Cody King where the dominant drivers in the Nitro Truggy and Nitro Buggy class at the recent JBRL Nitro Series Rd1, it was Jose Castelan (TLR) who took the win in the Sportsman Truck class. Jose also wrapped up the win in the Sportsman Buggy class while Robert Wickham (TLR) came in 1st in the “old dude” 40+ Buggy class.

Revelation Raceway held the fourth round of the Team Losi Winter series. Coming into the final round of the four race series, TLR’s Tyler Brown was in control of the overall standings and wrapped up the last race with a solid 2nd place finish with his Novarossi powered TLR 3.0 buggy.

The first round of the Dutch nitro on-road nationals took place at the prestigious Apeldoorn track. In the 1/8th NK class Belgian driver Gunther van Staey took the overall TQ for the semifinals and also completed the final in first place, one lap ahead of Xray’s John Ermen. Frank Baggen rounded the podium another two laps down. Joey Sorber and John Lenaers completed the top 5 result.

The opening round of the 2014 JBRL Nitro Series got underway at the Thunder Alley RC Raceway last weekend. In the Nitro Truggy class TLR’s Adam Drake and Kyosho’s Kyle McBride and Cody King all looked fast in qualifying and this would also proof in the 15 minute main where Adam and Cody battled the entire final. With about 4 minutes left Cody made the final pass to take the lead and with a gap of about a second he was able to beat Adam Drake who had to settle for 2nd place. Kyosho’s Kyle McBride, who is preparing for the Silver State race, completed the podium in 3rd.

The Russian Electric on-road nationals where held at the Agalatovo RC Carpet Raceway near St. Petersburg. In the 10.5T Pro Stock class Oleg Lastochkin, who qualified 4th, was able to take advantage of mistakes made by the leading drivers in order to take the win the 1st and 3rd A-final, handing him the overall win and the national title. Alexander Naumov came in 2nd while Andrey Kokarev completed the podium in 3rd.

The 7th round of the East Hungarian championship was held at Ozd last weekend. in 13.5T Stock Xray driver Janos Birinyi made maximum use of his track knowledge as the race was organised by his home club and therefore he was able to take TQ with quite a margin. In the finals he was able to take the overall victory with smooth and consistent driving. His Xray teammates Tamas Pongho and Viktor Kiss completed the podium in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Round 8 of the non-profit Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series was held in the Rodeo capital of Canada, Calgary, Alberta; hosting just under 200 entries from across Western Canada. This was the final round of the series, bringing the total WCICS entries to just under 1500. The Calgary Area RC Auto Racers, CarCar, hosted a great event, and as the last round of the season the championships were all decided in all 7 classes. In the Awesomatix sponsored TC Modified class, the top 4 drivers qualified within a few seconds of each other. But at the checkered flag it was Calgary’s Serpent sponsored Steve Soon who stood on the top spot of the 2014 Season Championship podium, Edmonton’s ORCA sponsored Wayne Mah drove his Xray to second overall, and in a close battle that came down to the final event, British Columbia’s Awesomatix sponsored Blake Bell took the 3rd spot away from WCICS President, privateer Josh Carter, who had come into the weekend sitting in 2nd overall. The 2014 Pro-Line LoneStar Challenge will take place from the 15th to 18th of May at the Thornhill Racing Circuit. The race doubles as the warm-up for this year’s ROAR Gas Nationals and is also the third stop of the 2014 USPro Cup tour and already attracted all of the industry’s big names. The event will see Pro, Open and Sportsman classes for Nitro Buggy, Nitro Truggy and E-Buggy as well as 40+ Nitro Buggy, Truggy and E-Buggy and also Pro and Sport Pro4 SC classes.
