Walter Salemi joins Motonica

Top Italian driver Walter Salemi has completed a deal that will see him move to Italian manufacturer Motonica for 2010. Completing a 2 year deal, the former Mugen driver has also switched to Max Power for his engines, ZAC Project for tires and MLC for fuel. The multiple World Championship finalist and former European Vice Champion will compete at this year’s Italian Nationals as well as the European 1/8th scale Championships that will take place this year in his home country.

Simon Moss wins on Schumacher Cougar SV debut

Schumacher are reporting that the Cougar SV made its much anticipated race debut this weekend at the BRCA British Open, which has replaced the Indoor Nationals formally run during the winter season. Against a strong entry of most of the UK’s top electric off road drivers the race could not have gone better for the Schumacher team. The result was a convincing victory in the 2WD class, Simon Moss won all 5 of his races in the Reedy style event to score a maximum perfect score. Simon also recorded the fastest 5 minute run by a huge margin of 5 seconds and fastest single lap with his Speed Passion powered car.

Bitty Design team up with Davide Tortorici

Italian company Bitty Design have announced that they have signe 2 time European champion Davide Tortorici for the 2010 racing season. Davide, who recently changed to Hobao, will use the company’s new Fighter shell for the Hyper 9, which following track tests has shown to be faster and more agile in low speed turns, have better direction change and improves air flow to the engine.

Yaniv Sivan does Israeli League Rd4 double

Last weekend race 4 of the Israeli Legaue took place at Rishpon racing track, north of Tel-Aviv. With top drivers from all over the country attending the race the 1/8th scale buggy class say an intense beginning to the final. Yaniv Sivan started from pole and with fast driving managed to open a gap on the rest of the field. meanwhile, Yaniv Levi from forth place advanced to second and Meir Azolay to third. The majority of the track was wet with high traction and the drivers put very fast laps and at the end Yaniv Sivan took the win followed by Yaniv Levi and Meir Azolay in 3rd. In the truggy class Ofer Rozen took the TQ, however it was Omer Asaig that started the race from pole. The first few rounds saw the pack running close together and all drivers were changing positions. After a few minutes into the race, Omer and Yaniv Sivan were neck and neck for a few laps but unfortunately Omer had to quit and so Yaniv could claim the double, with Or Levi 2nd and Ofer Rozen 3rd.

Rheinard is Czech ETS Champion

Viktor Wilck has won the third leg of the A-Main at the Euro Touring Series in the Czech Republic but the final result remains the same as he takes second overall behind Tamiya Racing Factory team-mate Marc Rheinard with Team Associated’s Juho Levanen completing the podium.

Rheinard 'Czechs' out in Leg 2 to win ETS Rd3

Marc Rheinard is the winner of the third round of the Xenon Racing backed Euro Touring Series, the current World Champion backing up his A-Main Leg 1 win by cruising to a 2 second winning margin over his Tamiya team-mate Viktor Wilck. The result means Rheinard leaves the Czech Republic with a 2 point advantage over the Swede who came to Hrotovice as the championship leader.

Rheinard on pole for Czech final

Marc Rheinard will start tomorrow’s A-Main on pole position after he TQ’d the final qualifier for the third Round of the ETS here in the Czech Republic.  The Tamiya Racing Factory driver put in the fastest 5 minute run of the weekend just missing out on breaking into the 17 laps with a time of 5:00.663.  The German claims his first Top Qualifier honours of the 2009/10 Series ahead of team-mate Viktor Wilck who set the fourth fastest time for the round. In Pro stock it was Daniel Wohlgemuth who claimed his 4th TQ run of the day to take pole position for tomorrow’s finals to start ahead of Alexander Stocker who couldn’t improve in his final run.

Levanen tops Q4 for Associated in Czech Republic

Tamiya’s reign at the top of the time sheets here in Hrotovice has been ended with Associated’s Juho Levanen setting the pace in the penultimate round of qualifying for the third round of the Euro Touring Series. The Finn posted a time of 16 laps in 5:04.308 to TQ the round from Andy Moore with Martin Hudy third. Levanen said his TC5 is now working really well and apart from a roll right in front of the drivers’ rostrum he was happy with the run. The result means that he is now in contention along with Rheinard and Q2 winner Viktor Wilck for pole position in tomorrow’s triple A-Mains.
