The 3rd round of the Belgian 1/10th scale EP on road Nationals was run last weekend on the short and technical outdoor track in Zwevegem. The event had 33 drivers racing in two classes, EFRA and Super Stock and the weather was very good, with sun and high temperatures all weekend. It was again a hard battle in the EFRA class which produced the third different winner in 3 rounds. The race was won by Benoit Thomaes with his Xray T2 008, just ahead of the late Koen Joosens with his Schumacher Mi3, while 3rd spot went to Olivier Bultynck with his Team Corally Phi. In the Super Stock class the overall winner was Urbain Swijsen with his Team Corally Phi, while 2nd went to Rico Claeys with his Hot Bodies and 3rd going to Thomas Stockman with his Team Associated TC5.

ROAR drops Gas truck & Production MT

ROAR

According to the website of the US governing body, ROAR, the Production Monster Truck and 1:10 Gas Truck have been dropped from future US National calendars.

On April 22nd, ROAR President Dawn Sanchez met with manufacturer representatives and Fuel Off-road Committee members in attendance at this year’s Truck Nationals held at The Nitro Pit in Phoenix, Arizona. This group discussed the viability of re-combining the 1:8 Buggy Nationals with 1:8 Truck Nationals. It was decided that in order for this to work effectively, Production Monster Truck and 1:10 Gas Truck would have to be dropped from the Nationals program. Those in attendance at the meeting were unanimous in their decision that this would be the most cost-effective method of handling Fuel Nationals. Not only would this be more cost-effective for teams and manufacturers, it would mostly help the privateer who has to go out-of-pocket for their expenses.
