Lamberto Collari wins the 2006 Trofeo Novarossi

OK, i know this race took place over 3 weeks ago but it was an important race and the event report only just showed up on the Novarossi website. The Trofeo Novarossi is an annual event and a celebration of all things Novarossi and even all the factory staff are bused to the event to join in on the festivities. This year it took place at the Gubbio track in Italy and as it turned out Novarossi’s returning prodigal son Lamberto Collari won the event ahead of Euro B champion Andrea Cristiani and Worlds finalist Walter Salemi in third position.

Adam Drake takes RC Pro Series truck and buggy titles

More RC Pro Series news, this time its the turn of the off road guys or in this case, guy, as top international racer Adam Drake took the title in both the Buggy and Truck classes. In the 1/8th buggy class, he edged out Futaba Nitro Challenge winner Taylor James and Chad Bradley to the title whilst in 1/10th truck Adam beat Kyle Skidmore and Cody King to the series title.

Jeremy Cupps wins the Nitro Onroad National Finals

Last weekend the RC Pro Series had their final gas on road race at the Gulf Coast Raceway, a race that was TQ’d by Paris Memorial winner Scott Kimbrow but won by Dave Campbell. This result didn’t affect the final outcome of the championship however which ended with Mugen racer Jeremy Cupps taking the National title ahead of fellow Mugen racer Terry Brown with Kyosho team racer Scott Kimbrow ending his campaign in third.

The event also played host to the Expert Sedan Nationals that was TQ’d and won by Ron Atomic (best super hero name ever) who also claimed the overall national title too.

Fredy Andres wins Rd7 of Carioca Championships

Fredy Andres has won round 7 of the Carioca Championships that were held last weekend in Brazil. The penultimate round of the championships Fredy won the pro buggy class driving a GS ahead of Helio Mattos with a Thunder Tiger in 2nd with Kyosho racer Ricardo Queros in 3rd. The last round of the championship takes place next week and all three classes are still wide open after 7 races.

2006 Tamiya World Championships, Japan

Just a quick post to mention that last weekend the 2006 Tamiya World Championships were held at a large indoor exhibition hall in Shizouka, Japan. The annual event featured many different classes as well as many different nationality of racers, and Japanese website RC Car Trend were there and have results and lots of images from the race which you can view here.

Brunet wins Rd1 of French 1/12th Nationals

Our partner site RC infos has a brief report on the 1st round of the French 1/12th Nationals that took place at Bonneville last weekend. Pierre-François Brunet driving an Associated RC12L4 took the win ahead of Corally racer Arnaud Constanty with Mathias Rascol again driving an Associated in third. Masami Hirosaka is Japanese EP National Champion

2006 Japanes EP Expert Nationals Podium

As was expected Masami Hirosaka who dominated throughout practice and qualifying has won the 2006 Japanese EP Nationals Expert class held at the indoor facility at the Yatabe Arena. Masami, driving a Yokomo MR4-TC won 2 from the 3 finals to secure himself yet another major title. Second place went to Atsushi Hara, driving his Hot Bodies Cyclone, who finished with 2 second positions and a third to confirm his runner up spot with Shinnosuke Adachi, driving a Kyosho, finishing with a fifth, fourth and a third position to claim the final step on the podium.

Scott Yang wins the 2006 GS Cup, Malaysia

The Taiwanese racer Scott Yang, driving a GS CL-1, has won the recently held GS cup in Malaysia. The rain affected race meant that the main final was not run and results were based on semi final standings which gifted Yang the win with Ah M driving a Hong Nor in second and David Lim with a Kyosho in third.

Around 70 drivers who came from Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia and Singapore attended this great events. The weather was not stable due to the raining season. Some rounds were even finished in the mud and water…
