Völker wins big as ETS heads into season #14

The ETS started into season 14 last weekend at Arena33 in Andernach, Germany where last season ended in September 2020. With 200 entries it was a great turnout for the ETS as there are still some countries with very strict Covid-19 restrictions limiting people traveling to races. The free practice day (Thursday) started with a wet track at Arena33 but after the asphalt dried out, the weather stayed in good conditions during the whole weekend. The Matrix Modified class saw a dominant Ronald Völker winning all four rounds of qualifying ahead of Antoine Brunet who had a flawless weekend showing excellent driving and pace. Behind them, Lucas Urbain and Marc Rheinard lined up third and fourth with Christopher Krapp also in the mix starting from the fifth position.

Toni Gruber wins Rd1 of Central German Champs

Last weekend the first race of the central German Championship took place at the Wiesbadener Minicar Club track with 42 drivers attending the event. In the expert class it was Shepherd factory driver Toni Gruber who claimed the pole-position for the 30 minute final followed by Shepherd returnee Oliver Mack in second position. At the start of the final Toni was able to defend the first place but Olli followed close behind and tried to keep the pressure high. At the first pit stop team Mack was a little bit faster and Olli re-entered the track just in front of Toni and took over the lead. In the following minutes Olli increased his lead step by step, but unfortunately a backmarker crashed into Ollis car ruining his chance for a victory as some repairs were necessary. FSEARA Rd8 941 RC Raceway – Report

The final round of the FSEARA Series. South Regional Raceway / 941 RC Raceway is a brand-new track to the series also to racers as well. The asphalt was laid down over a year ago, but due to Covid shutdown, this track was never able to get activity approved by the city to host the event. This time of the year, we are lucky to be the first group to test this brand-new surface. The highlight of the battle for the weekend was for sure in 17.5 TC. It was a battle between the series top contenders. Dave Vera set the early pace with Infinity IF14. Cory Record came up just short to match Dave’s TQ, but he was having a tough time with this track. He was able to come up with a last min setup change to put himself 2nd overall. Cory Parsons, the last round winner, had a bad last round of qualifier and had to settle for 3rd.

Reedy Zappers DR competition HV-LiPo drag race packs

Reedy’s new line up of Zappers DR batteries use state-of-the-art LiPo chemistry with advancements in construction that result in improved power output and internal resistance without sacrificing durability. Striving to improve all aspects of battery performance in the increasingly popular and competitive world of RC drag racing, Zappers DR batteries feature a 3.8V/cell nominal voltage, meaning that the battery can be safely charged to 4.35V/cell. It is not a secret that more voltage equals more power, so there is no easier way to increase power and top speed than a higher charge voltage. But even when the typical 8.44V (4.22V/cell) charging limit is enforced, Zappers DR shine thanks to their inherently flat discharge curve, which results in higher voltage when multiple passes are required between charges. Available to suit a variety of chassis configurations and the class requirements of different racing groups, to keep power-robbing resistance to a minimum, hard-case models are equipped with 5mm sockets (male ESC connectors are included), while soft-case models feature 10-gauge wire and XT90 connectors.
