Valentin Hettrich joins Awesomatix Factory team

Awesomatix have announced another strong addition to their team with the signing of former ETS podium finisher Valentin Hettrich. Similar to Alexandre Kunkler he will also participate at the Euro Touring Series events as well as other well known regional events. On the deal, Valentin said ‘Thanks to Max for the trust in me joining Team Awesomatix. I am looking forward to getting back at the track again and working with the team and getting the most out of the car. See you at the track!’

Alex Kunkler joins Awesomatix Factory team

Awesomatix are pleased to announce the addition of the German/French racer Alex Kunkler to the Factory Team. Alexandre is a known racer with a lot of experience from the past years racing all around Europe. The multiple ETS finalist in the Stock class will participate at all the remaining Euro Touring Series events as well as other well known regional events. Alexandre said of his new deal ‘Feeling super motivated and happy to join the Awesomatix team after borrowing lots of cars for the last few months! Looking forward to my first race next week at ETS Rd2 in Andernach and a big thank you to Max for making this happen!’

Schumacher Racing team welcomes Riccardo Berton

Schumacher Racing would like to welcome young Italian star Riccardo Berton to the team. Riccardo is the current 1/8th European champion and Worlds A finalist. On his new deal he said ‘Big thank you to the Schumacher Family for the opportunity to race with their cars, I am really thankful and I look forward to do some of the most important races. See you soon’. Riccardo will continue with his Infinity program for 1/8th but joins them for his 1/10th racing. He will be competing at many large 1/10th events around the World as and when travel allows.

Serpent sign Meen Vejrak & Charlee Phutiyotin

Serpent are excited to announce the signing of not one but two household names in the RC community, Meen Vejrak and Charlee Phutiyotin. With vast amounts of experience across a wide range of classes including a World Championship title, multiple World Championship Finals, TITC Champion, Thailand 1/8 Buggy Champion, ETS Finalist and Reedy Race Finalist, they will bring something special to the team. Meen had this to say about the new deal:

Louis Kretschmer joins Awesomatix Factory team

Awesomatix have announced the addition of German stock class driver Louis Kretschmer to their Factory Team. Louis is another ‘young gun’ in the Awesomatix Team and he will participate at the Euro Touring Series events, where he recently finished 4th overall, as well as local events in Germany like RCK and TOS races. Louis said ‘At this moment I am just thrilled to be part of the Awesomatix team. I’ve dreamed of working together this closely for years. This opportunity is a real pleasure for me and I hope to be an asset to the team. It will be a big milestone in my career that I will never forget. A big thank you to Max and Oleg for this opportunity. I hope I can get some good results for the team. See you on the racetrack!’

2021 XRS Italy onroad – Report

The 2021 edition of the XRS Italy on-road event was held at the beautiful facilities of Club Automodellistico 5 Colli in Gubbio, Italy. Some 110 entries in 5 different classes competed over the course of the weekend of 24-25th of July 2021. Perfect weather conditions, and a great atmosphere was present all throughout the event. The modified TC class was won by the world champion Bruno Coelho, followed by Alexander Hagberg, and Xray team manager and designer Martin Hudy in 3rd. Bad luck struck the 3rd qualifier, Alessio Menicucci, who dropped down the order in the finals.

Schumacher Outdoor Off Road Masters Rd2 – Report

This past weekend was the second round of the newly organised SOOM series, there was once again a great entry of drivers in the 2wd class on Saturday. The entries for 4wd on Sunday were a little lower than we had hoped for, mainly due to several racers having to cancel due to Covid restrictions. The race format was round by round qualifying, with the best 2 results from 4 rounds of qualifying counting towards the final position. There is usually 1 final for all competitors and 3 leg A finals. However due to the lower entry numbers in 4wd, we decided to have 3 leg finals for everyone, so more racing and track time. This was well received by the racers. The Mendip crew had designed a fantastic track layout for our event, a huge thank you to them all for their hard work and dedication.

BRCA Clubmans Rd3 WLRC – Report

Round 3 of the BRCA Clubman’s was hosted at West London Racing Centre in Hillingdon last weekend. The weather fortunately held out for this meeting with torrential rain predicted, which only arrived once some excellent racing had finished. With a very good entry of 43 drivers in the 17.5 Blinky class we were in for some close racing with many of the country’s top drivers present. Schumacher driver Andy Murray was the man to beat, but after taking 3 round wins he was proving unstoppable as he lined up P1 for the final. After 2 torrid A final legs it was a clean sweep for Andy making it a perfect day’s racing taking the win ahead of the Xray’s of Ben Cane and Soteris Lisai.
