Reedy Zappers DR competition HV-LiPo drag race packs

Reedy’s new line up of Zappers DR batteries use state-of-the-art LiPo chemistry with advancements in construction that result in improved power output and internal resistance without sacrificing durability. Striving to improve all aspects of battery performance in the increasingly popular and competitive world of RC drag racing, Zappers DR batteries feature a 3.8V/cell nominal voltage, meaning that the battery can be safely charged to 4.35V/cell. It is not a secret that more voltage equals more power, so there is no easier way to increase power and top speed than a higher charge voltage. But even when the typical 8.44V (4.22V/cell) charging limit is enforced, Zappers DR shine thanks to their inherently flat discharge curve, which results in higher voltage when multiple passes are required between charges. Available to suit a variety of chassis configurations and the class requirements of different racing groups, to keep power-robbing resistance to a minimum, hard-case models are equipped with 5mm sockets (male ESC connectors are included), while soft-case models feature 10-gauge wire and XT90 connectors.

Berlincioni & Donadelli win at F1 Supercup

After a long break the F1 Supercup returned last weekend at La Valletta, Italy. In the F1-70 class Andrea Mariani pushed Matteo Berlincioni hard for the win, however the latter was able to hold on for the victory with William Carrato taking the final podium spot. The F1-70 class showed some solid numbers in terms of drivers attending as well as laptimes, despite the class being based more on looks than tech. In the F1 Class, there was another close battle between the top 3, with the difference in the best laps down to the hundredths of a second. In the end it was Marco Donadelli with the win in front of Simone Brocca, with Fabrizio Villa 3rd.

Spashett & Fletcher take Rd2 of BRCA 1/8th nats

This past weekend saw the 2nd round of the BRCA 1/8 on-road section National Series hosted by Adur Model Car Club on the English south coast. All week racers were weather watching as the weekend forecast was for rain for most of the weekend, but what do those forecasters know. On Saturday the racers were greeted with a dry track, slightly overcast, but dry. Open practice started with and the set up process got underway for what is the smallest and arguably most technically difficult circuit we visit through the season. Timed practise mid afternoon showed what was in store for the race with only 1/10’s of a second separating the top 4 (Thurston, Wood, Spashett, Snell) in IC on their fastest lap. In the Electric class Billy Fletcher was again showing his pace but the surprise of day was Mark Green running electric for the first time was close behind. The day stayed dry and after timed practise the track was once again open for free practise for the drivers to fine tune their cars ahead of ‘race day’.

The opening round of the BRCA 1/8 Circuit Nationals was held at the ultra-fast Brookland circuit in Kent recently, with warmer weather greeting the racers. It was great to see and welcome many new and returning drivers to the class including Ralph Crampton, Rob Colman and Vinicent Meron among others. Around 40 drivers were competing across the two classes with the usual front runners in nitro class of Tim Wood, Alex Thurston and Mark Green fighting for honours in qualifying, with Alex taking 3 out of 4 rounds and TQ. The Nitro A-final was a spectacular watch for all, with close racing at high speed, Brookland delivered an entertaining 30-minute final, Alex Thurston and Tim Wood exchanged positions early on then Alex was about to take a comfortable lead.
