BMT have announced the signing of Fabio Boero to their team. The multiple national and European champion will campaign the company’s 016GT 1/8th GT car and he has the following to say about the deal:

Coming from SMJ and made for the Infinity IF14 and Yokomo BD8 touring cars are a new foam front bumper and zero gap foam strips. Starting with the bumper, the specially-shaped part allows to fine-tune the body position and distance between the body and bumper as its shape fits most of today’s touring car body shells just perfect. With the addition of the optionally available 20x70mm zero gap foam strips any gaps between the body and bumper are easily bridged for improved aerodynamics and longer body life. The self-adhesive foam strip set includes two 3mm and two 5mm strips that are made out of the same material as the foam bumper.
Coming from SMJ is the Kabuto T12 2.1cc nitro on-road engine for 1/10th 200mm nitro touring cars. Based on the O.S. Speed T12 engine the Kabuto variant was fine-tuned to extract even more performance from the power plant while also upping low to mid-range torque. Different from the other Kabuto engines it does not come pre-broken-in but with a newly designed, engraved cooling head. Also available is a suitable, tuned silencer set based on the O.S. Speed T-1070C L52 exhaust that includes the muffler, manifold, silicone gaskets and mounting springs. The engine and exhaust are available separately and also a combo package.
Last weekend the third and final round of the Danish Nitro On-road Championship was held at the high speed track of the Næstved Model Racing Club. In the 1/8th class it was again Martin N.O Hansen who set the pace, claiming the TQ position by winning three of the four qualifying rounds. Martin Dyrlund lined up in 2nd and Rasmus B. Nielsen had to settle for the 3rd spot after the qualifiers. Going into the 30-minute final Martin N.O looked unbeatable, but Martin Dyrlund, Rasmus and Søren had set a high pace and were on same lap as Martin N.O until the last minutes of the final, when Rasmus ran out of tyres and Martin Dyrlund’s high pace was at the cost of high fuel consumption. This allowed Martin N.O Hansen (ARC/Novarossi/Contact) to take the win one lap in front of Søren Jørgensen (ARC/Novarossi/Contact) in 2nd and Martin Dyrlund (ARC/Boss/Contact) 3rd. With the TQ and win, Martin also secured a perfect season with TQs and wins at all races to take the overall title.

Round 4 of the Danish Electric On-road Nationals was recently held in Tølløse near Copenhagen. Even without preparation the track offered good grip and the mostly sunny weather made for great racing conditions on Saturday. Unfortunately it was raining on Sunday morning and the weather would constantly change between dry and wet periods. The organisers decided to postpone the start by an hour and jump directly into qualifying. Ultimately it was Mike Gosvig with the TQ in the Superstock class from Frederik Broløs in 2nd. The opening A-main then went to Mike from Frederik and Patrick Danielsen and also the second A-main was won by Mike while Kevin Nielsen made a late move on Frederik to secure a 2nd place. In A3 it was again Mike with the win from from Kevin 2nd as Soren Boy Holst secured 3rd in the leg. Ultimately it was Mike Gosvig with the win from Kevin on the runner-up spot while Frederik had to settle for 3rd overall.
Italian company WRC have introduced their new P-One P01.1 1/10th formula tyres. Of the popular low sidewall height design the tyres come in a new rubber compound that will increase both performance and durability. The tyres come glued to black multi-spoke rims that fit most of today’s 1/10th formula cars.

The 2017/18 season of the popular Mibosport Cup Winter Series will kick off on the weekend of the 14th of October in Hrotovice. Attracting almost 400 drivers in total including the likes of Ronald Völker, Lee Martin, Viljami Kutvonen, Alexander Hagberg, Viktor Wilck, Hupo Hönigl, Martin Hudy and Martin Bayer, last year’s series was again a great success. This year the series is run in the eight classes of Touring Car Modified, Stock LRP, Formula, 1/12th scale as well as 2WD and 4WD Buggy. New categories are 2WD Stock 17.5T and 4WD Stock 13.5T Buggy. The Touring Modified and Formula classes will roll on Volante tyres, the Stock class utilises Sweep rubber while the off-road categories will run the brand new Schumacher Cactus tyres. As usual the on-road races will be run on the proven black ETS carpet while the off-road track is laid out with the same carpet as used at the EOS. The final round of the Portuguese 1/10th Touring National Championship was held at the fast Pista Das Travessas track in Sao Joao Da Maderia. The race was held in a single Stock 10.5T Blinky class and it was the title decider between Helder Silva, Jorge Simoes and Frederic Santos. Frederic would start from pole into the finals and he also won the opening A-main while Helder and Jorge fought for 2nd and 3rd. A2 was won by Jorge as Frederic wasn’t able to hold his position and things even got worse in the final main when Frederic had to retire with a broken car on lap 1 as Helder took the win. Overall Jorge Simoes would take the day’s win from Helder Silva and Frederic Santos, whose 3rd place was enough to take his second national title in a row.
