Peter Alvarado TQs & wins Puerto Rico Onroad Nats Rd2

The second round of the Puerto Rico On-road National Championship was held at the Barceloneta RC Track. Peter Alvarado took the overall TQ in the 1/10th 200mm class but in the main final he got into trouble in the opening stages. On the sixth lap Alvarado traction-rolled trying to push his car on big tires, passing the track near to the loop. He decided to wait for the second and third car, but recovered but got back into the lead on lap 19 and from that moment on he never looked back. With a flame out 20 minutes into the race, but still with a large enough margin on the field, he finished in 1st, about a lap ahead of 2nd placed Franco Machado who also suffered a flamed out, as did 3rd placed Yamil Ruiz who had problems earlier.

Nick Chong successful at Kuala Lumpur GP

Last Sunday Kuala Lumpur saw its first race in 2017 and it was Nick Chong in the 1/8 GP class who managed to take the victory at the well attended event. On the RC Malaysia race track Nick was able to secure the TQ spot and the final saw a clean start of him but just before the first round of pit stops Nick ran out of fuel, dropping him down to 5th position. With some flawless driving he was able to make up the lost time and to take over the lead again. After the tyre change at the 30-minute mark he controlled the race from the first position and ultimately he took the victory in front of Anthony Wee with Yee Kok Leong taking the final podium spot.
