Round 4 of the Essex Carpet Clash championship was this past weekend, and the team had a slight change up for the driver for this round, running in the opposite, anti-clockwise, direction compared to all previous rounds. After the four rounds of qualifying, it was Stephen Brown in 4WD that took the pole position securing it by TQ’ing all rounds. Mark Lewis was hot on his tail and lines up 2nd on the grid ahead of John Painter.

Absima have announced the release of their new Revenge CTS 8 V3 speed controller for competition 1/8th scale applications. The speedo utilises a machined aluminium case and add-on cooling fan for optimised heat dissipation while the software allows for a wide range of throttle and brake adjustments, ensuring the ESC can be adapted to virtually every driving style and track condition using an optional programming box. The 180A rated controller is of a sensored design, it features a 6v/7.4V BEC system, all black wires for a professional factory look and it is usable with up to 6S LiPo battery packs.

The opening round of the Steel City R/C Speedway Points Series was held at the Steel City R/C Speedway in Fontana, California last weekend. The event saw 1/10th, 1/8th and 1/5th scale racing and in 1/8th Open it was Chris Velez who lead an all-Serpent podium from Max Smalls in 2nd and Jeff Rold in 3rd.

VSR Products have announced the release of their new angled fan mount for the Team Associated B74. It mounts onto the top of the carbon plate for the centre diff/slipper and its design allows clean access to the battery terminals while making sure it limits the contact with the B74 body. The 3-D-printed mount fits any 30mm fan and it is available now.
Coming from 7075.it and made for their free flex battery mount are slim pack battery stops. Machined from 3mm 7075-T6 aluminium the battery hooks are narrower than the original parts, allowing for secure fitment of the new slim LiPo battery packs such as the one from Sunpadow. The hooks come black anodised and with laser-engraved logos for surface protection and professional looks.
T-Works have introduced new Precision ball bearing sets for a range of 1/8th off-road kits. Utilising rubber and metal-shielded high-quality ball races the sets will reduce the natural drivetrain drag due to the metal inner shielding while the outer orange rubber seal offers exceptional protection against dust, dirt and moisture. The sets are available for the Team Associated RC8B3.1, Mugen MBX8/MBX8T and MBX8 Eco, the Kyosho MP10/MP10T/MP9 TKI4/TKI3 as well as the MP9E. Round 4 of the popular HIT series was held in the Czech Republic recently. A technically track of medium grip challenged the drivers and in the end it was Oliver Havranek with the win in the Touring Modified class from Martin Kratochvil in 2nd and Radko Cernohous in 3rd, making it an all-Xray top 3. Over in the Formula class Lukas Hoch walked away with the silverware from Filip Radjus in 2nd and Svetlin Douhlevski in 3rd.
Bezerk have introduced their new slim pack battery hooks system for the Xray T4 range of electric touring cars. The battery retention system was designed for the new generation of slim battery packs, like the Sunpadow slim pack, that help to bring all the weight closer to the centre of the car, especially compliments the newer generation of lighter ESCs and motors and still retain weight balance. The battery posts are located as close to the side of the battery as possible to reduce the stress on the upper retaining tab. The 5mm thick carbon fibre battery hooks are beefy enough to take a beating and high enough to keep the battery in its place. The mounting holes are slotted to allow a small amount of left/right adjustment. The 3mm carbon fibre upper tabs look minimal in size but due to their placement are more than up to the task. The kit is usable with the 2020 down to 2017 variants of the T4 and it includes two battery hooks, two battery tabs and two black alloy hex standoffs. Other options include shorter standoffs for very low batteries and are also available in silver.
