Spannbruckner wins FWD class at Mibosport Cup Rd2

The second round of this season’s Mibosport Cup was held in Hrotovice, Czech Republic this past weekend. In the popular FWD Touring car class it was Alexander Mayer with the overall TQ after winning two of the three qualifiers. Werner Spannbruckner, who secured a single round TQ, came in 2nd from Christian Schmid 3rd. In A1 and A2 Werner Spannbruckner, who piloted Rebellion-RC’s forthcoming Xray T4 FWD conversion, was able to get past the leader to secure himself the overall win from FastForward/Rebellion-RC driver, Alex Mayer in 2nd. Xray’s Tomas Liptak came in 3rd to round out the podium in front of Lukas Hoch and Roman Fiby.

Maifield & Kaiho win at RC Magazine Off-road Challenge

The iconic Yatabe Arena in Tsukuba, Japan hosted the 2019 Radio Control Magazine Off-Road Challenge Cup this past weekend, attracting both national and international drivers. In 2WD Modified Buggy it was Yokomo’s Ryan Maifield who would take the overall TQ and he also walked away with the win after the A-main, leaving behind Yokomo’s Kaito Kodera and Nana Kaiho in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Over in 4WD Modified Buggy it was Yokomo’s Lee Martin with the overall TQ, however he just got edged out on the finish line by Nana Kaiho. Lee would end the race on the 2 spot and in front of teammate, Kaito Kodera.

Ryan Cavalieri & Broc Champlin win at Florida Carpet Champs

Beachline Raceway of Cocoa, Florida hosted the inaugural Florida Carpet Championship this past weekend, attracting nearly 120 entries. In the 2WD Modified Buggy class it was Yokomo driver, Ryan Cavalieri with the overall win thanks to coming out on top in A2 and A3 as top qualifier and A1 winner, Team Associated’s Broc Champlin ended the day on the overall runner-up spot. Xray’s Daniel Kobbevik came all the way from Norway to compete against the U.S. elite and he would be awarded with the final podium spot. Tie on points with Daniel it was Tyler Jones and Cole Tollard who had to settle for 4th and 5th respectively.

Yeah Racing SW-01 graphite upper arm connectors

Coming from Yeah Racing and made for the Tamiya SW-01 truck is a graphite upper arm connector set. The braces connect the front and rear upper arms of Tamiya’s popular stand chassis and installation is simply with only a screw for each upper arm. The connectors are machined from lightweight carbon fibre material and they include the needed mounting hardware.

Hampus Berg sweeps Indoor Buggy Masters Rd1

Round 1 of the Swedish Indoor Buggy Masters was held at the TMK indoor track in Tomelilla this past weekend. The event used a Reedy style racing format and when the dust had settled it was HB Racing’s Hampus Berg with the overall win in the 2WD class from Otto Ausfelt (Team Associated) in 2nd while Joel Rosengren (Team Associated) completed the top 3 podium results.

X-Factory UK Winter Series Rd2 – Report

The second round of the X-Factory UK Winter Series took place this past Saturday in Watford, United Kingdom, with several new faces competing at this event too. A fast, but tricky track was laid by the DMS Model Car Club and after the four rounds of qualifying it was Mark Lewis (Team Associated) who would take the TQ in the 2WD class, followed by Kevin Hunt (Team Associated) in 2nd, Chris Delves (Schumacher) in 3rd, William Venebles (Team Associated) in 4th, Joe Renton (Team Associated) in 5th and Lee Hedges (Xray) in 6th. The remaining A-final spots would be filled from the bump ups via the lower finals.

Sawada to start on pole for OneTen Rd4

Again pushed from the start and having to come from behind, Jin Sawada was able to secure the TQ spot for this afternoon’s single 8-minute A-main. Dropping to 2nd in the early part of the run, Sawada got his head down and pulled back the necessary time to go to the top of timing sheets where he stayed to the end. Following a big crash on the last lap Yugo Nagashima would eventually drop down to 4th for the round but he will still start in 2nd in the final. Sawada was on new tires for the last heat and apart from adding more glue to the sidewalls doesn’t plan to make any changes for the final.
