JConcepts Ellipse 2.2” silver compound buggy tyre

JConcepts have introduced their popular Ellipse 2.2” buggy rear tyre in silver compound. The Ellipse, named after the centre bar built into the tread, is a compliment to successful tyres such as the Dirt Webs and Space Bars. The “Web” style tyre was built to compete on smooth high-grip indoor and outdoor surfaces which require a finely detailed connected bar pattern. The centre section of the tyre is a home run utilising a diamond “home plate” footprint to provide massive forward bite and increased longevity. The web of extensions are unique and have a directional touch giving the racer the ultimate tune-ability. The Ellipse has already shown success in the hands of Ryan Maifield taking TQ at the Spring Indoor Nationals in Tacoma, Washington. The compound of choice for most indoor events, the exclusive gold compound, has shown to produce consistent results for racers week after week. In addition, the new silver compound is now available to further tune drivers to clay condition tracks and have already taken huge victory at the ROAR Nationals in the hands of Spencer Rivkin and Ryan Maifield. Included in each package, the Dirt-Tech closed cell inserts known for their durable nature and gray colour complete the race tuned package.

Rohrmoser claims Austrian 1/10th 200mm title

The 4th and final round of the Austrian IC Track National Championship took place at the Sollenau track recently. Pre-event favourites were Franz Engel and Christoph Rohrmoser who both had chances to take the title but Engel had to win the race to claim the title. In qualifying Simon Ciudan claimed the pole position followed by Engel and Rohrmoser respectively. At the start of the final Engel was able to take over the lead and managed to increase the gap to one lap over the rest of the field. Mid-race he changed tyres and dropped behind Ciudan who opted to run on a single set of tyres. In the final stages Engel closed the gap step by step, but as the clock was ticking down he had to take a higher risk and made a mistake in the penultimate lap. Ciudan crossed the finishing line in 1st position followed by Rohrmoser and Engel in third. With this result Rohrmoser took the overall title in front of Engel and Kandelhart. Young Shepherd racer Simon Engel finished the final in 6th position which was enough to claim the National Junior title.
