Yokomo Europe YZ-2 & YZ-4 stainless steel weights

Yokomo Europe have introduced new stainless steel balancing weights for the Yokomo YZ-2 and YZ-4 buggies. Made to add weight in the lowest possible position, the parts come in handy especially in high-grip and very bumpy conditions. Available are three different weights, as are a heavy 52g weight for the YZ-2CA/DT, a 26g variant for the YT-2CA/DT and YZ-4 as well as a 11g under motor weight for the YZ-2CA. The 52g and 26g weight can also be used together in the YZ-2CA/DT to end up with an even heavier car. All weights come laser-etched with some cool graphics for a professional look.

Belgian SCT Cup Rd3 – Report

Belgian SCT Cup Rd3 – Report

Round three of the Belgian SCT Cup was held at the Buggy Racing Tournai club and on an unanimously praised new layout. Unfortunately, like last year in May, the weather had different plans for the weekend. Massive rain during the week before the race meant the club members had to work hard in order to prep the track and the surroundings and it was even possible to start the race on Sunday but more heavy rainfall around noon left the organisers with no choice but to cancel the event. Thankfully the qualifiers were done at that point and therefore the qualifying ranking was used to determine the final ranking.

Kobbevik wins 4WD title at Swedish Off-road Champs

Last weekend’s Swedish Electric Off-road Championships saw Yokomo driver Daniel Kobbevik taking control of the proceedings in the 4WD class. Putting some two seconds on the second placed driver in the best three consecutive laps Daniel was also the only one to break into the 23 seconds barrier when it came to the fastest single lap. The track was pretty beaten up from the 2WD portion of the event and it looked like the conditions would be pretty changeable during the day.

Boots retains Euro title as rivals crumble in the heat

sat_winnerelliott

Elliott Boots has successfully defended his 1:8 Offroad European Championship title.  Racing under the beating Spanish sun, the 45-minute final would take a dramatic turn with just 7-minute to go as David Ronnefalk and Robert Batlle looked set to duel it out for the win.  Having just relinquished the lead to Ronnefalk, Battle would suddenly slow but before the gasping onlookers could get their breath back Ronnefalk would also come to a stop.  With both drivers suffering from overheating throttle servos, it was Top Qualifier Boots who was there to pick up the pieces, the British driver having made a somewhat slow start to the race.  With the demise of both Ronnefalk and Battle, the attention of the race was on who would make up the rest of the podium, former champion Yannick Aigoin as surprised as anyone to finish runner-up for Xray ahead of an equally happy Neil Cragg, the Associated driver describing it as the ‘best 45-minute final I’ve ever had’.
