Arena have introduced a range of aluminium servo mount collars and low-friction shock O-rings for Xray vehicles. As for the servo mount collars, the parts are machined from high-quality aluminium and they are used to prevent the servo from moving in its mounts as they interlock with the case’s lugs, effectively preventing the servo from moving during a hard hit. The mounting collars are available in orange, black and blue colour.
The 2017 edition of the International Toy Fair takes place this week in Nuremberg, Germany. Although more and more companies opt for a “no show”, with this year marking a new low point in terms of established manufacturers and distributors attending, there are still some industry icons present, such as Schumacher who feature an interesting CAT XLS re-release. A company that is living for the re-release of kits is definitely Tamiya who already announced some new, re-issued kits that are on show in Nuremberg. Wallet-busters such as the 2017 Bigwig and Top Force make an appearance as do the more entry-level green edition Grasshopper, the Grasshopper II or scale models such as the CC-01 Pajero or the TT-01 Type-E based Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo.II. Beside the re-releases Tamiya also show new kits such as the TT-02 Subaru WRX STI NBR Challenge kit, while racers hoped for a show up of the announced TRF419XWS but it is understood that the latter will make a first public appearance at the Shizuoka Hobby Show later this year.

Matrix Racing Tires have announced the addition of Merlin Depta to their factory team. The German front runner, former vice-European Champion and ENS A-Main regular will join the Matrix team for the 2017 1/8th nitro season in which he will compete at events such as the German Nationals, the ENS, EFRA GP Series and the Worlds in France in September.

The second round of the XRS Germany was held in Augsburg and it saw a total of 58 drivers battle it out in the four classes of Touring Modified, Touring 13.5T Stock, Formula and 1/12th scale. The club laid out a nice 400 square metre track using ETS carpet that made for high traction and fun races. Racing-wise and in the 1/12th scale class it was young Antonio Theofilou to take TQ but after the final Bernd Wiesenberger held the upper hand to bring home the day’s win from Antonio and Christian.

Coming from Xpress is the Xpresso M1 M-type 2WD rear wheel drive kit. Sporting “M-Chassis” dimensions the race-oriented kit features a full carbon fibre double deck construction, carbon fibre A-arms, adjustable upper links, a touring car sized rear gear differential and a belt-driven transmission. A centred and front-mounted steering servo makes for massive steering throw and a reactive toe rear suspension system ensures a nimble handling and exceptional traction and side-bite. The 5th Hungarian Serpent S411 Endurace Race was held at the Sportolda sportshall in Pecs, Hungary with a a total of five teams battling for the win. The race was held in a unique format of six 50-minute stints with 15-minute breaks in-between. At halftime the teams also had an official lunchbreak with the cars sitting in the parc ferme. Before the race the identically prepared Serpent S411 RTR cars were given to the racers that were allowed to use their own batteries and radios. In the end team All Stars would take the win with 1712 laps from team Elza es Tarsai (1642 laps) and team Peströ gyuttunk (1639 laps). In total more than 8100 laps or 611km were completed by the teams.

Coming from Avid are gold-anodised Triad M4 wheel nuts.
