Mustafa Alp doubles at TORC Rd2

Round two of the Turkish Onroad Championships was held at the Efmod track in Izmir. Like in wide parts of Europe the weather forecast for the weekend was pretty depressing. Friday’s practice would be held in dry conditions but arriving on Saturday morning the track was damp, meaning further practice would be delayed a couple of hours. Right in time for the first rounds of practice it started to rain again which meant further delays. As more rain was predicted for Sunday the organisers decided to go ahead with a shortened schedule of one practice round, two qualifiers and shorted sub and main finals to make sure the race could be held on Saturday.

Amri & Dino successful at Malaysia Touring Nats Rd3

Round three of the Malaysia Electric Touring National Championship was held in Sibu East, Malaysia. In the Touring Modified class Azri Amri (Xray) took the top qualifier position and he would hold on to the first place in the mains too, taking the day’s win from teammate Norazam (Xray) while Yokomo driver Shahrin rounded out the top 3 result.

Sergi Franch wins at Catalonia Formula Series Rd4

The fourth round of this year’s Catalonia regional Formula Championship Series was held at the Cerdanyola Modelcar race track with over 20 drivers in attendance. The high level of racing made for entertaining mains and finally Sergi Franch (Xray) went home with the win from Alain Biesca and Carlos Rojo in second and third respectively, both driving prototype cars.

VBC Racing Wildfire D08 Dynamics Edition touring car

VBC Racing have introduced the Wildfire D08 Dynamics Edition touring car kit. Packed with optional parts dedicated especially for outdoor racing the kit features new TBBS True Big Bore Short shock absorbers and LCG shock towers, an adjustable aluminium cooling fan mount, titanium-coated suspension pins and the V2 body height adjusters. VBC Racing also dropped in the all-new stabilizer linkage system and a set of Yaiba Racing delrin joint protectors. The kit will become available by the beginning of June.

Danish Electric On–road Nationals Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Danish Electric On–road Nationals was held in the town of Vejle. The track offers a challenging layout with loads of curves, chicanes and long straights and unfortunately rainy weather on Saturday disturbed the practice sessions, limiting track time for the drivers. In the Touring Super Stock class Mike Gosvig (Xray) would take the TQ after sweeping the qualifiers while Soren Holst (VBC) and Steven M. Olsen (Xray) lined up in second and third respectively for the finals.

Akio Sobue wins at Speed King Tour Rd4

Round four of the 2016 Speed King Tour was held at the Twin Ring Honguu track in the Aichi prefecture in Modified and Stock Touring Car as well as an Oval class. TRF driver Sobue Akio TQ’d Q1 and Q2 of the Modified class and although Yokomo driver Yugo Nagashima came out fastest in Q3, Akio would take the overall TQ.

Hobbywing Xerun 42-series SD G2 brushless motors

Available soon from Hobbywing are the all-new Xerun 4268SD G2 and 4274SD G2 1/8th scale brushless motors. Designed especially for the use with the Xerun XR8 and XR8 Plus brushless controller, but also usable with the sensored speed controllers of other brands, the motors feature a built-in chip that allows the speedo to identify the motor in order to maximise the performance while allowing for smoother overall control. Also in combination with Hobbywing’s own controllers Turbo functions as known from the 1/10th scale boosted ESCs are possible in order to extract the maximum performance from the motor. The 4-pole motor is housed in a black anodised aluminium heatsink case with bi-directional timing adjustments, allowing to fine-tune the timing independent from the direction of rotation. Other features include an advanced, patented hall senor system for improved reliability, a 4-pole 8-magnet staggered pole low-cogging torque rotor as well as an O-ring sealed sensor port and gold-plated solder tabs. The 68mm long 4268SD G2 motor is available as 1600kv, 1900kv and 2600kv variant for off-road and on-road applications as well as longer 74mm version with 2250kv rating for off-road trucks.

Ruddog aluminium clamping servo arms

Ruddog have introduced their new aluminium clamping servo arms. Made from aircraft-grade 7075-T6 aluminium the arms are of a clamping design meaning they will stay in place even when the actual servo arm screw is coming loose, while their high rigidity will make for improved steering precision compared to standard composite arms. The arms are available in a 10.8mm and standard offset variant, they sport 16mm and 20mm ball stud mounting positions, and are usable with all 25T spline servos while coming in the three different colours of red, blue and black.
