Infinity World Challenge – Report

Last weekend the Infinity World Challenge Race was held at the Morac Ring in Austria. In the 1/8th IC Track class it was Nejc Mihelic with the round TQ in Q1 from Branislav Panak in 2nd. Q2 was lead by Branislav most of the time but a last lap mistake allowed Tomas Liptak to TQ the round. Overall however it was Nejc Mihelic with the TQ after the qualifiers. In the first of the two finals it was a clean run for Nejc Mihelic as he managed to run away from Branislav and Tomas while the two battled for 2nd position. The battle was lost for Branislav later as he ran out of fuel on lap 52 and then again on the last lap so it was an easy win for Nejc who would finish 1 lap ahead of Tomas and 2 laps in front of Branislav.

Fenix March 240 6-wheel formula body shell

Fenix Racing have released first prototype images of their forthcoming new March 240 6-wheel formula body shell. The full-scale car was developed in the crazy 1970’s that also brought the Tyrell P34 6-wheeler, however the March 240 was never used in a Formula 1 race as the ambitions project, that promised less aerodynamic drag and better traction thanks to its rear 4WD drive drivetrain, was too much to chew for a small team like March. Nevertheless it gained some popularity and the 4WD package later made it into Roy Lane’s successful hillclimb March 771. As for the 1/10th scale replica, Fenix is currently finalising its design and the body will hit the stores in kit form very soon.

Muchmore Fleta ZX8 Evolution 1/8th scale BL motor

Coming from Muchmore is their new Fleta ZX8 Evolution electric brushless motor for 1/8th scale applications. Utilising the highly machined Flow-Max Ver.II aluminium can, the motor offers greatly improved cooling efficiency, keeping its operation temperatures as low as possible even in demanding applications and extreme heat conditions. Dual sensor ports allow for easier wire routing and less chances of damaging the sensor wire near rotating drivetrain parts while the 4-pole, 8-magnet staggered-pole rotor reduces low-RPM cogging while offering a very low torque pulse. The motor is built using high RPM super low friction bearings and the rotor is equipped with an innovative hall sensor system that ensures ultra-precise throttle control.
