Anthony Abisset TQs & wins at GP of Marseille

The Grand Prix of Marseille was held this past weekend and in the 1/8th Nitro On-road class it was Anthony Abisset (Serpent) who took the TQ from Adrien Bertin (HB Racing) and Christophe Louis in second and third respectively. At the end of the 30-minute main final Anthony retained his position with Adrien ending the race some three seconds down. Two laps behind Mathias Kalaris (Capricorn) completed the podium result in third.

The opening round of the Belgium Modelifun Championship was held in Meux, Belgium. The Touring Car class was won by Jerome Defrenne from Michel Smets in second and Pascal Delferiere in third. Cedric Colen and Cornard Olivier completed the top 5 result in fourth and fifth respectively.

T-Works 748 titanium turnbuckles & screw sets

Coming from T-Works and made for Serpent’s 748 line of vehicles including the WC, TQ and E are several turnbuckle and screw sets. Starting with the turnbuckles, available now are a hybrid aluminium and titanium turnbuckle kit that is made up using titanium links and aluminium hex segments. The parts offer a lower weight compared to the standard spring steel links and they also add visual impact thanks to their orange anodised alloy hexes. Also new are a set of 64-grade all-titanium links, a 137-piece set of 64-grade UFO head titanium screws for the WC edition kit and also a 145-piece set of gold-plated steel screws, again for the WC kit.

Loran Whiting TQs & wins at Texas Rumble

This past weekend the Rumble in the Asphalt Jungle race was held in Austin, Texas at the newest permanent on-road track in the United States, called N-Control RC Racing Circuit. This was the track’s first big race and in the 1/10th Nitro Sedan class it was Loran Whiting who was able to take the TQ and she would also lead the 20-minute A-main from start to finish to take the day’s win.

2016/17 Mibosport Cup Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the 2016/17 Mibosport Cup was held this past weekend at the Hotel-Sport in Hrotovice, Czech Republic and it saw a total of 233 entries for the four on-road and two off-road classes. The Touring Car Modified class was dominated by reigning IFMAR Touring Car World Champion, Ronald Völker (Yokomo) who won the qualifying and took the overall TQ without any problems. Behind him Viktor Wilck (Serpent) and Tobias Seidl (Schumacher) made up the top 3 while, after some very strong runs in the qualifiers, Czech driver Radek Flek came in fourth.

Hobbywing XeRun XR10 Stock Spec – Full details

Following first teaser images and brief information, Hobbywing have now officially revealed the XeRun XR10 Stock Spec brushless speed controller. Housed in a black anodised aluminium case with incorporated heatsink the purpose-designed stock class controller is of smaller dimensions than the popular XR10 Pro 160A controller. With a footprint of 31.5×25.6mm and a weight of 28g without wires the speedo makes it easier to place it in crowded environments. Despite the smaller size the controller boasts with a lot of features such as a high-voltage 7.4V BEC system, an 80A rating and it sports a patent pending dual switch design with the internal electronic switch is backed by an additional one that attaches to the rear part of the case, making for easier handling when the car’s body is already installed or when the internal switch is hard to reach. On the software side of things the XR10 Stock Spec is packed with a special firmware that includes pre-configured stock racing profiles for on-road and off-road, it features adjustable throttle and brake PWM frequency settings and the ESC is adjustable using Hobbywing’s WiFi Express module and a mobile device and also using Hobbywing’s LCD programming box.
