Wallace Motorsports signs Bobby Flack

Wallace Motorsports has announced the return of Bobby Flack to the RC racing world. Bobby brings years of experience to the table, and after a slight hiatus he has decided to make a return to the sport joining the Wallace Motorsports On-road nitro family. Bobby will be helping with R&D on the current WRC NTX.3 chassis through out the states using Ielasi Tuned engines, Hot Race Tires, and Power HD servos to operate his rides. Bobby says:

Well, I am very excited to say the least. I am so thankful for this opportunity from Wallace Motorsports. I really have to thank Diatta for making this happen. It’s been a few years but I cannot wait to get to the track. This is the complete package here. The NTX.3 is very high quality, I am very impressed. With Ielasi engines and Hot Race tires it’s going to be a fun year! So far I will be attending the remaining Midwest Series races, The Great Lakes Challenge and the ROAR Nationals in Toledo. Time to get to work. See you at the track!

RC Race Prep ZooRacing anti-tuck arms & wing mounts

UK based brand RC Race Prep have announced the release of their new anti-tuck arms and adjustable wing mounts for the ZooRacing range of touring car body shells. Starting with the anti-tuck arms, the aim of this design is to decrease the chance of a body tuck within a run. A body tuck just at the wrong moment has the potential to ruin the entire event for the driver and team. The way the arm has been designed is to disperse the energy from the impact and not damage the shell. The parts weigh in at just 2.2g each and when designing the arm, RC Race Prep chose to use the production methods weakness to the designs advantage. The screw hole at the base of the flex arm can be fixed to the bodyshell to further support the rear of the shell. Upon impact, the layers around the hole will delaminate dispersing some of the energy from the impact. This means that on impact the contact patch on the wheel is effected as little as possible. This is a critical performance aid when running with a lightweight shell as the vertical load is applied down the arm to the fixed location point on the arm. The resistance given by the arm is also a key part of the design process. To change the flex characteristics, the designers produced a variety of arms with different arks and thicknesses. The result is an anti-tuck arm whose resistance is great enough to push the body back to its resting vacuum formed position, yet not so great to unload the wheel during impact causing the car to loose traction.

Vortex Racing Aeris 30mm fan duct

Coming from Vortex Racing is their new Aeris fan duct for common 30mm fan units. The duct has been optimised to keeping the motor as cool as possible for increased overall performance and less fading towards the end of a run. While cold air is forced through the fan and duct, a specially-shaped air vent helps hot air to escape which further increases cooling performance. Two recessed sections on the sides allow for easy fan insertion and removal. The duct is made of high-tech resin for exceptional durability and less changes or cracking.

VSR Products NB/EB48.8 wing shims

VSR Products’ popular 1/8 scale wing shims are now available for the Tekno 1/8th scale platforms. The addition of the 7mm or 10mm wing shim elevates the rear wing of the NB48.4 or EB48.8. Raising the rear wing creates more downforce and stability at high speeds and on large jumps, and has worked well on large high-speed and bumpy tracks. Raising the wing allows it to create more consistent downforce, thus making a more consistent car throughout the corner. Both 3-D-printed shims come with two metric screws to replace the stock ones, and offers a tuning option between no shim and the VSR 10mm shim.

JConcepts Krimson Dually 2.6″ truck wheels

Coming from JConcepts are their new Krimson Dually truck wheels for the use with Fling King tyres. In the 1980’s it was very common for early Monster Truckers to use dual wheel tires to accomplish what one large Terror Tire could do. With a lot of garage-tech engineering and ingenuity, the dual wheel trucks could crush a car with the best of them while also running a mud pit in the blink of an eye. JConcepts has designed and produced a very special wheel for builders and drivers wanting to double up on the competition. The 2.6” Krimson Dually is a first of its kind, a purpose built, 2-piece, 12mm hex wheel which fit dual JConcepts Fling King tires to perfection. Like the originals, the wheel is 2-piece which accomplishes many things in the process. The use of an inner and outer wheel allows ease of build and gluing of the tires while aligning and perfecting the ultimate mud tire combination.
