JConcepts Krimson Dually 2.6″ truck wheels

Coming from JConcepts are their new Krimson Dually truck wheels for the use with Fling King tyres. In the 1980’s it was very common for early Monster Truckers to use dual wheel tires to accomplish what one large Terror Tire could do. With a lot of garage-tech engineering and ingenuity, the dual wheel trucks could crush a car with the best of them while also running a mud pit in the blink of an eye. JConcepts has designed and produced a very special wheel for builders and drivers wanting to double up on the competition. The 2.6” Krimson Dually is a first of its kind, a purpose built, 2-piece, 12mm hex wheel which fit dual JConcepts Fling King tires to perfection. Like the originals, the wheel is 2-piece which accomplishes many things in the process. The use of an inner and outer wheel allows ease of build and gluing of the tires while aligning and perfecting the ultimate mud tire combination.

Stafford & McGee win at BRCA EP Buggy Rd3

Round 3 of the BRCA 1/10th Off-road Nationals was held at Eden Park Raceway in the south-east of the UK this past weekend. On Saturday the 2WD class commenced and the weather was wet with drying conditions but with some extra rain showers over the day kept the conditions interesting with some drivers round being affected.
Schumacher driver Ellis Stafford qualified 2nd behind Team Associated driver Neil Cragg. The 3-legged A-final was hard fought, with Ellis fighting to get past Neil. With matching scores overall but with a 2nd place and a faster winning final time gave Ellis the win he deserved. Nathan Ralls (Xray) had to settle for 3rd overall. Sunday was a much brighter day with sunny spells and only a very brief shower. Ellis Stafford took TQ this time with Danny Mcgee close behind in 2nd spot. The finals were hard fought by all with an early mistake from Ellis Stafford left Danny in 2nd but Neil Cragg was able to get past Danny and take the win in the first leg. In leg 2 Ellis, Danny and Neil had a battle, with Danny getting into the lead but after a retirement from Danny this left it to Ellis to take the win with Ed Kerry getting 2nd. The last leg meant that four cars could win it, Ellis unfortunately made an early mistake dropping down the field which meant Danny Mcgee had a lot of pressure from Neil Cragg for a majority of the race but defended superbly until Neil made a few mistakes which allowed Tom Cockerill to catch up and take the second spot. With the race over and with a win and a second from Danny he took the win and his first 4WD in his racing career as Neil Cragg and Ed Kerry completed the podium.

RC Maker V2 body anti-tuck wing mounting set

RC Maker have introduced their new V2 light body anti-tuck wing mounting sets for the most popular 190mm touring car bodies on the market. Our brand new Anti-Tuck Wing Mounting Set Lite V2 introduces an even more compact, efficient way of integrating wing mounting and anti tuck components. This system prevents body tucks behind the rear wheel arch during racing, as well as inconsistencies on high speed tracks and in windy conditions, causing the bodyshell to vibrate. Weighing in at only 5g for the pair, this lightweight strut only requires one additional M3 screw other than the wing mounting screw to secure the strut behind the wheel arch. Using the existing upper wing buttons, racers can screw directly into the strut securing it at the top whilst also securing the wing. The new design also offers extra material that sits in the vertical part of the wing strut. In crashes this section of the bodyshell can often crush or deform, and is unable to be repaired. The brace fixes this and prevents deformation in this area, ensuring your body lasts longer. The strut is produced by Australia’s highly regarded 3-D-printing experts Think RC. These are constructed of a rigorously tested, flexible, yet strong plastic material which allows them to be used time and time again between bodies. The struts are currently available for the Protoform Type-S, Zoo Racing DBX, Preopard and Hellcat as well as the Mon-Tech Racer 2.

Hobbywing XR10 Pro G2 competition ESC

Hobbywing have announced the release of their new XeRun XR10 Pro G2 brushless competition speed controller for 1/10th scale classes. The updated variant of the ultra-popular XR10 Pro features high-performance 32-bit M4 microprocessing for super-fast and precise control. A built-in reverse battery polarity protection protects both the controller and battery when things are getting a bit hectic in the pits and a range of new accessories such as non-polarised capacitor banks and over-sized fan mounts complement the G2 ESC. The latter are machined aluminium heatsink design frames and allow the use of 30mm fan units in high ambient temperature conditions. New for the G2 is also the ability to use an external switch in case the internal one is hard to reach and in addition to the greatly improved hardware the speedo also received some new software features such as a greater PWM frequency range for throttle and brake, ensuring optimised control when needed. Also new are finer adjustable turbo increase and decrease rates as well as a 101 percent to 150 percent brake range, a feature that comes in handy when running high-turn stock motors with aggressive gear ratios. New for the G2 is also the ability to adjust motor rotation direction and the built-in BEC system offers adjustable 5V to 7.4V and 10A output. Last but not least comes a softening function that will improve vehicle control in high-power modified classes. Like the previous controller the G2 is programmable and upgradable using Hobbywing’s WiFi Express module and an iOS or Android mobile device with a more traditional programming box being also available. The controller is available with black/silver, orange or red case details and it is available now.
